Met with Brother Randall and Pastor Gundry for our Saturday morning men's prayer meeting and Bible study and I am pleased to report that our time spent in prayer and the Word was quite fruitful. Amen. I always know I'm about to learn something when Pastor Gundry opens his cracked weathered Scofield and this morning was no exception. Amen. We studied Revelation chapter 20 and how it relates to Matthew chapter 25. It turns out that Satan will be loosed for a short time after the Millennial Reign of Christ but before fire from Heaven consumes the armies of Gog and Magog when all this time I had been under the impression that the destruction of Gog and Magog would occur at the end of the Battle of Armageddon and at the same time as the destruction of the Antichrist. Anyway the good news is that Satan and the Antichrist and the False Prophet as well as the baby killing demon Molech and the serpent Nahosh along with the masses of sorcerers and sodomites and other unbelievers will be cast into the Final Gehenna (the Lake of Fire) "for the ages of the ages" in what is known as the second death. Amen!
doesn't matter if a person is evangelicals or not to each their own making fun is wrong in race, religion, creed, color, culture or any such aspect of humanity. love.
Apparently by "Saturday" he means Saturday, May 12th, 2001. Scroll down... http://amenlover.livejournal.com/?skip=20 I recognise a lot of his other posts from there too.
I can see your point, but I can also see that the irrationality (if that is what you believe) is their religious choice and therefore part of what they are as humans. Which, brings the question is this o.k. to condemn or make fun of others based on their personal choices as humans with rights to live with out being treated as inferior because of their system of belief. To me that is not acceptable, but I do accept that others find it acceptable and feel no hate towards them just sadness for intolerance. please don't take any thing as condecending or mean natured, I love everyone. peace.
I am not a mean natured person, anything i say would all be in good fun. The problem is that people that believe something irrational tend to want to force their irrational belief on the rest of the population (anti abortion, anti stem cell research, anti contraception, anti homosexuality, etc) There is no real discussion when someone says the Bible gave them the answers, and that it requires faith. I have no problem with people believing whatever they want. However, the legislative process should require that things be debated in commonly experienced terms, ie faith in a book is not an acceptable platform.
Sorry, I don't tolerate IRON-FISTED FUNDAMENTALISM. That's not what tolerance is about. We should not tolerate shit-shovers. If these people want to go home and masturbate with Jesus pictures that's their business, but this fundamentalist Christo/Islamo/Judeo monotheistic god-pushing in our public system has gone too far. "Quit Playing Games With God" ? " I'm sick and tired of hearing about all of the radicals, and the perverts, and the liberals, and the leftists, and the Communists coming out of the closet! It's time for God's people to come out of the closet, out of the churches, and change America! We must do it!" - REV. JAMES ROBISON This clown and many more like him are pushing for this fucking shit in our faces. I AM SICK OF BEING CALLED AN UNBELIEVER AND A NON-CHRISTIAN and TOLD THAT I AM GOING TO BURN IN SOME GODDAMNED HELL, ok???????????? I will NOT tolerate that bullshit. I am a human being. I hate being called non-christian. As if Christians hold some monopoly on existence. I drive a VW, I don't call it a non-Ford, or live in a non-trailer, or work at a non-steel mill, or work on a non-PC, or eat non-pizza. Christians see everyone but themselves in a negative light and make threats of netherworld torture from their invisible Sky Daddy all the time, and when we fight back we are called INTOLERANT?!? Goddamn right, I'm intolerant of SUCH INTOLERANCE and ARROGANCE! And as I don't believe in violence, making humor about it is my line of defense. That is until someone pisses me off by calling it "intolerance". I'm sorry, but calling fundamentalism what it is (hatred) is not what is considered "intolerance" on any humane level.
libertine you are stooping to the level of those you speak of and that in itself is sad. Generalizing individuals based the religion they follow is judgmental. thumontico, I understand where you are coming from when you talk about legislation. The only problem is you will alway find people who are truely passionate about what they believe so individuals will always fight for what they believe in and that is comendable to a degree. I think i heard a country song that says it best "if don't stand for something you'll fall for anything" (i think those are the words, but the message is the point) I don't push my beliefs on anyone, but in a place like a forum or something I find healthy discussion fun and a learning experience. I also think that if we as enlightened i.e. accepting people do not set the example of acceptance then how will the fanaticals learn how to love one another. of course I also do not think that moral and religious beliefs have any place in government or legislation because it can be harmful to people of different cultures and religions and everyone should be allowed to feel equal to the other.
Well, you can idly sit by and be damned to hell by fundies if you want. You can sit by and "chill" and watch these Bushites and Religious quacks take over and make statements like "I don't consider atheists citizens" if you want. But the extremist here is you. What you practice is apparently not "tolerance", but apathy. Let's just ignore the fact that these tyrannical fruitcakes are trying to LEGISLATE their religion into the public square. Well, sometimes intolerance (in the form of righteous anger) is good. WE ARE INTOLERANT OF HATE. WE ARE INTOLERANT OF RACISM. WE ARE INTOLERANT OF ELITISM. WE ARE INTOLERANT OF WAR. WE ARE INTOLERANT OF VIOLENCE. WE ARE INTOLERANT OF FUNDAMENTALISM. Believing in invisible men in the sky is one thing, but coercion should not be tolerated. Follow your history. Hippies (the most peace loving people) didn't tolerate some things-- and only a fool tolerates all things.
I sympathize with Lib on most everything he's posted and agree with a lot of it...he got too much shoveled down his throat as a child and has had to put up with just a little too much as an adult...kind of like me. I believe in a universal spirituality and have absolutely nothing against Christians except for the way many have gone about and still go about "witnessing" or "sharing their faith". IMO, if Christians are upset about being bashed and called intolerant, they should look in the mirror, because it's their own fault...they've brought it on themselves over the last 40 years with their bulldozing mentality and large-scale use of obnoxious, arrogant, and condescending evangelization techniques and practices.
spook13, for some reason (even though we've disagreed) there has always been a healthy respect between us. I appreciate that.
