Has anyone read The Five People You Meet in Heaven? I read it last week by mistake ::teehee::. I had just gotten home from having a horrid day & fell into the squishiest chair in my house. My mom had bought it & read the first few chapters. She left it on the table next to the chair & I only intended on reading the first few pages but couldn't put it down! I finished it that night & I have to say it was awesome. Its by Mitch Albom, the writer of Tuesdays With Morrie. I was laughing & crying through the whole thing. Really makes you think about who your 5 people would be & consider who & how your actions affect. I highly recommend it; very uplifting & thought-provoking. xoxo cortnee
I really want to read this book, but don't really want to buy it and the library has a waitlist. Looking forward to reading it eventually, it sounds right up my alley. I did read Tuesdays with Morrie though. It was OK, but this one sounds better.
I read this book too, and really enjoyed it. I loved Tuesdays with Morrie too and highly recommend that one.
I loved this book I read it in a few hours its amazing i Cried and felt uplifted afterward! This is an amazing book!
It sounds really worth reading it, I work at a library so I'll check to see if we got the book. What is it about?
Its about this old man named Eddie. He has lived & worked at a boardwalk amusement park all of his life, which he is very bitter about. He feels that his life was worthless & he never did anything important. He dies & then meets his "five people." The five people are individuals whom have been affected by his actions, no matter how great or seemingly unimportant they were. The book basically chronicles events in his life, but lends to a larger meaning of life. Its a hard book to put down. xoxo cortnee
I loved it, loved it! I bawled towards the end but in a good way - it is on my recommend-to-all list at the moment. It is so beautiful - even if you don't agree with all his sentiments the richness of them is still stunning. Great book.
This book is extremely touching. My sister got it for me. I thought it was another attempt to get me interested in Christianity but it turned out to be awesome. I have to say of all the books I've read; I don't think there was one where the main character was dead for most of the time. I also have to admit I was going into it with the wrong attitude. Besides the religious title, there was also the fact that Mitch Albom is a sports commentator. Well, I learned that sometimes sports commentators can write, too. I was sold after the second chapter and I think he did a good job of portraying the things we know nothing about without excluding any reader.
Hmm sounds like more trash from the USA that moralises about Good and Evil, and how there is a heaven and it will be beautiful and then at the end, theres the tear jerking moment when the old man puts out a finger and says "ouch"! over sentimental boulderdash
