...doesn't exist. there's only now. as long as I am alive I can only be here and now. I can worry about the future, I can make plans, I can be angry about something that happened in the past, but I always realise after that it wasn't necessary. all I can do is live now as best I can, because now is the only time that I have. when now is over I'll be dead. now didn't start in the past, but at my birth or gaining of conscience. it won't end in the future, rather at my death or loss of conscience. that's the way I see it anyway [IMG]

close, but overlooks one thing: the one thing we can change, the one thing we are always chainging, is what hasn't happened yet. we live in yesterday's tomarrow. the tomarrow we made yesterday. we do that every day. and everyday we make the day we will live in next that comes after it.

yes, only today can we make those chainges, but only tomarrow can we feel them.

sure :) but we can't feel tomorrow the changes we make today because when we feel those changes we're in tomorrow, which is then today. as I see it there is no tomorrow because today is the only day we're consciously hanging around in. not even today-- only this moment. I can take an action right now which effect will show up in a few hours, but in a few hours it'll still be now, because that's where I am. by the way, I like your kitty thing :)

I read it through several times [IMG] it's hard to get the book over here though. how are you, veggie? still got your dreads?

    Peace! [IMG]

There is no such thing as time, it is just a man-made construct for convenience.

Really convenient! To live in all the nows (that I have experienced so far by one at the time) all at once would be pretty confusing!
But what about the signs of people that lived before we experienced any now at all? Doesn't that looks like some kind of past?

yep. it's all happened, but the point is it's not there anymore. there are pictures and buildings and stories from the past, but they aren't in the past anymore, they're in the present, just like we are. and everyone has his own present, like he has his own perspective. time is a different dimension than space or form... time moves through space, and form moves through time, and also space when it's mobile. see? that's just my perspective on it :) and everyone has his own perspective.

I know what you're saying, although it's hard to really grasp and understand it fully, but if you see the past as former nows, there still is a past right. And a future for that matter. What if we actually invented a time machine and pierced the space/time and entered a now that's in our history?

that would be a mind trip  I'm just content to live now... I try not to feel sour about the past, or worry about the future, because now is the only thing I can affect, and that I can see. I have one past, one present, and infinitely many futures, but the now is like a little round room with one tunnel leading backwards to the past and infinite tunnels leading to the future. but all the tunnels have doors, and all the doors are closed except that I can open one at a time, only a future door, and once I go through that the other doors disappear and infinite new ones appear. wild, right? :)

Yes indeed, but I can't really agree on the one thing you can affect. You can affect your future (future nows) as well. Like, to choose which tunnel you are gonna enter and you will be aware of some of the consequences right.

yeah that's true... hm, I mean in the now is the only time I can feel the effects I make. is that actually affects or effects? hm. I haven't exactly formulated this so well, it's just what occurs to me... hehe.

Ah well, I wonder about these kinds of thoughts every now and then as well, I just don't really get a definite conclusion out of it :)

that's okay... I don't think anything is definite. it is funny to think about the whole cosmic thingy, but I don't really get anywhere from it...[IMG]
