I've this goddess statue in my front yard, about 3 feet tall and rather plain (no paint) but very pretty. She is surrounded by flowers and bushes, so there's greenery around her 12 months a year. Anyway, once in a while I'll light a candle and let it burn out by her, or some incense...

Well, I suppose this attracted some attention because there's been a few times where I've come home from something or wake up in the morning to get the paper and notice some new incense burning, or a tea light or a small flower that I didn't put there.

    I thought that was nice.

Sounds really nice that people do stuff like that :) Gives ya hope. When I read the titel of the thread my first thought was that someone had stolen your statue or sth.. good to read that it is the total opposit!

sorry, I can't... I don't have access to a digital camera and can't afford one atm... :) but I encourage anyone, if you find a statue to put in your front yard... see whom in the neighborhood enjoys making offerings to the goddess as well... it's so communal, it's nice!

That is really beautiful. Would love to see a picture of Her! When we get our yards fixed up, I'd like to do something similar. You're an inspiration!

That's so beautiful! I would love to have a goddess in my yard. Unfortunately in the area I live in however, my religious beliefs are not ahem... widely accepted. I probably wouldn't have such lovely people to light incense or leave a candle. It's such a wonderful thought though!
