Bob and his wife Arlen were crashing at our place in sF while writing the first book and we would sometimes have brain storming sessions that included Larry Todd of Dr. Atomic fame and an occasional writer from Star Trek. All I can say is there's less fiction there than one might think.
wow!!! and yeah, bob blew his own mind when his "fiction" later turned out happening i remember reading. it's so awesome that people from that scene are on here! i've been reading raw, lilly, leary, ram dass, alan watts, etc. for some time. the beginning of illuminatus is pretty much how it is; the disembodied voice taking on the different incarnations... the one experiencing itself as multiplicity! OM!!!!
That if he wrote up what was the non fiction as such it might endanger himself and/or his family. Sooo, if the si-fi was far out enough......
I dont suppose you can throw any light on the character in the Cherry Knoll asylum, here in Sunderland ? The place actually exists - actually spelt Knowle rather than Knoll - I go past it fairly regularly. Its not even a famous asylum, so I could never figure out why he chose it, or even how he came to know of its existence.
Bowls of the Emerald Triangle's best. I would remind you that Bob and Arlan both were editors for Playboy and could have heard tell of it anywhere.
