I'm tired of seeing the movie where the ugly guy gets the good looking girl. Where is the opposite?!? He is not cute at all either.
Who cares? I don't pay attention to how the actors look, i pay attention to the story plot and the funny parts.
I don't care what you pay attention to. It's annoying that I never get to see an ugly chick end up with a good looking guy. Fucking sexist.
Lol!! I think the reason it doesn't bother me is because there is always a hot chick ! I never realized that before i didn't think about it now that you brought it to my attention i find it hilarious. I'm sorry, I will be sympathetic too (damn sexist media)
hehe... I'm not really as outraged as I sound... but I am getting tired of seeing all these unattractive guys
But you see, thats what makes the story of this movie. I remember in the beginning they talk to each other telling the complete truth, and the girl says to him I do not think you are attractive at all, and don't plan on sleeping with you. Then throughout the movie he has to prove to her that it's not how he looks but how smart and amazing he is. Towards the end, after he learned how to lie, she asks him if they had kids then would they be fat and stubby, and he says yes, and tells her the truth, and he claims that lie wouldn't have counted. So the way I see it the movie was perfect, but i'm not interested in the hot guys Come to think of it, there was the fat guys rival, that wanted to marry her, wasn't that guy "good looking"?
because there aren't "ugly" women. there are only disgusting women, quirky women, and women who don't take care of themselves (who are often disgusting, but not always) A lot of people will disagree with me, but honestly, it is AMAZING how successful one can be with a good workout routine, knowledge of clothing and makeup, and barring severe deformities (which aren't ugly, they're just people we don't put on film because we pity them and their physical defects detract from the cine in most cases <"the Freaks = notable exception>) you typically have an attractive person. Also, there are women who think that "ugly" guys are attractive, as women have a more subjective taste than men do, or at least seem to from this end of the stick.
There are quite a few comic actors out there that I'm pretty sure, at most, only 10 women in the world find attractive. The whole reason is that ugly guys like to daydream that beautiful successful women will want them. It's just their wet dream. You make a good point though FreshDacre... him being ugly does fit in with the movie in this case.
I haven't seen the movie. The main char I like from the British Office, but his other show "Extras" was lame shit. The previews make the movie seem stupid because people not only tell the truth when asked...they just blurt out random information that embarrasses them. For example in the preview the waiter is telling the couple how jealous he is and how he is poor. Why would someone just blurt that out? The only time I see less attractive women with hunks when it is a sugar mama type of thing. Of course..that is usually why you see less attractive guys with hot chicks. At any rate I see a ton of ugly guys with hot chicks all the time. I also see good looking guys with less attractive chicks. It is a confidence thing...but really if ugly people only mated with other uggos and pretty people only mated with pretty people....we would be on our way to Morlocks and Eloi.
I just want movies to portray the fact that an ugly girl with a fabulous personality can win the love of a super hot guy. It happens, but movies only portray it the other way around. I agree about the movie... why do people always equate telling the truth with saying really random rude shit?
I'd say spend a lot of time around the right kind of kids with aspergers, if you do not know how to lie (you don't understand the value in it, so you never developed the skill, and even when you try you don't understand the non-verbal cues that make the thing work) you will fast learn that it just happens. if you don't consider lying (the only alternative other than silence) and you don't think of silence, or you are in a culture where silence is a less acceptable social option, brutal honesty becomes the path.
Why is brutal honestly always something bad? Sometimes I think someone is really smart or beautiful or whatever and I never say anything to them. If one is just blurting out the truth in real life it wouldn't always be negative. But people who always say they are "honest" are only honest about negative things. It's stupid.
