Is it just a coincidence that the Jews returned to Israel after about 2000 years just as the Bible predicted-in detail? How could men alone know this?

Self fulfilling prophesy. Though your method for coming up with 1948 is rather ridiculous.

    Ezekiel 37:21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: 22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel;
Ezekiel 38:8 States that this will happen in the latter years. Another words near the end of time.
Self fulfilling prophecy? So the Jews made Hilter kill 6 million of them just so they could go back to Israel. This is the kind of twisted thinking you find on these posts.

NT testament writers used the term "last days" to refer to their own era! It's not exactly a "detailed" reference to 1948.

The term last days or latter years is used in the Old Testament, and 1948 was the first time the Jews fulfilled the prophecy of one nation with one leader.

    Israel is Abraham's promised land

"God said to Abram: "Go from your land ... to the land that I will show you." (Genesis 12:1)

"On that day, God made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river the Euphrates. The land of the Kenites, Kenizites, Kadmonites; the Chitties, Perizites, Refaim; the Emorites, Canaanites, Gigashites and Yevusites." (Genesis 15:18-21)

"And I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your temporary residence, all the land of Canaan as an eternal possession and I will be a God to them." (Genesis 17:8)

yes, which is why they refused accepting any other land.
i wonder if theyd be going through as much shit as they have been for the last 50 years if they didnt feel the need to try and fulfill a prophecy.

During World War II Israel was one of the few places Jews could go to . Not to many countries open their arms to Jewish immigration. Just read your history, Jews fleeing Europe could of cared less about Bible prophecy. It was burning in ovens that was formost on their minds.

    i have read my history
the jews entered a covenant with god, where he would grant them israel if they followed his commandments.
when they lost israel, they beleived that they brought it upon themselves by not holding up to their part of the covenant.
there were atleast one or two places that were willing to accept them, but they would not accept anything but israel, as they felt that that would mean that they were once again holding up their part of the covenant, and in gods good books.

I was reading a mountaineering book by Joe Simpson, and was about half way through when I volunteered to man a booth at an anti-apec summit conference. Our booth was promoting a free East Timor.
The free Tibet booth next to us had a visit from a tibetan Buddhist monk. I got to meet him. That night I read two pages further in my book, and there he was. His name is Palden Gyatzo or something like that.
What are the odds that he would be in Vancouver Canada, right beside me, and then the same day I would turn the page and see him in the book I was reading?

That is a coincidence, and here's another.

A good example of the kind of coincidence I mean was the time I got hit on the leg with a baseball. It left a round bruise just like other times it has happened. This one time though, my brother and I were walking home from the movies, and we climbed a tree to see over the outfield fence to find out the score of a baseball game. It was the bottom of the ninth, and one of us said wouldn't it be neat if he hit it right to us. and then he did, and the game was over. It hit me on the leg because my brother was in front of me and could see it coming, the outfielder didn't, he had lost it in the lights and was backing up to our left and that's where I was looking for it, above him. My brother ducked out of the way and it hit me. And the game was over, and we had not been in the tree five minutes. To me, the odds of us saying that, and it happening right after, and considering it ended the game, and we just got there minutes earlier, the odds of that happening must be unimaginable.

I wouldn't exactly say that they are attempting to fulfill prophecy. They wanted their land simply because it was promised to them. Since they reject Christ as the Messiah, they do not believe that he will appear a second time. They completely disregard the New Testament, and prophecy that states their involvement in building a third temple in relation to the end times. (Thought that prophecy is mentioned in the Old Testament)

Number 20 of the 613 commandments in the Torah (according to Maimonides) calls for the building of a Temple in Jerusalem if one does not exist or orders the maintenance of a Temple if it exists.

It basically boils down to two reasons:
    1. The fulfillment of a national dream of the Jewish people.
    2. A rallying point for the nation's religious and cultural heritage.

The ship St. Louis set sail from Germany on May 13, 1939. Aboard were 930 German Jews bound for the United States. Yet for most of them, there would be a waiting period of between three and three and one-half years before they would be permitted to enter the United States. Knowing this, they planned to wait in Cuba. When the ship reached Havana harbor, however, the Jews found that the Cuban government had changed its mind--only thirty Jews were allowed to disembark. Messages were sent to the United States, but the U.S. government refused to allow the passengers to enter. Meanwhile, other boatloads of Jews were also turned away from port after port. Few places would accept them. Great Britain and Australia took in a few, but refused to open their borders to more. Switzerland even made it illegal for Jews to cross its borders. Believe me Jews were not thinking about Bible prophecy during World War II. Jews were only thnking of how to get out of Germany and Israel was the last place on their mind. Almost every nation on Earth refused to allow mass numbers of Jews to enter their borders. Finally in desperation they went back to Palestine, and at that time the country was under British ruel and they refused to allow the Jews to enter. Another ship filled with Jews called the Struma broke down just outside of Istanbul in Turkey. There again they were not allowed to come ashore. The ship finally sank and only two Jews survived. If you read your history the Jews would of been happy anywhere as long as they could escape Germany, but no one wanted them.

Solid evidence that the Bible was truly inspired by God...... see how fast the thread ends.... It must be hard to argue against the truth

Why are people still arguing wether if the Bible is true or not..... Campbell has layed out the proof ... and people refuse to answer yet will still continue to say on other threads anything they can against the Bible.

The Jews didn't create Israel, the Allies did in the aftermath of World War II, and they did so because it fell in line with their Christian values. The Christian leaders had been taught that the Jews would return to Israel, so they felt that a recreation of the nation of Israel was a moral and ethical thing to do.

    That's highly debateable.

Who or how Israel was created is of little importance. The facts are, the Bible stated near the end of time the Jews would be back in Israel and would control Jerusalem. It also states that Jerusalem's East Gate would remain sealed until Jesus Christ returns and opens it on His way to the Temple Mount. The Bible was correct. And the Allies had nothing to do with the sealing of the East Gate 400 years ago.

  19. israel used to be a much larger chunk of real- estate, when the bible talks about israel it's not talking about the itty bitty chunk of land they have now

The Bible clearly states that near the end of time the Jews would return to the land of Israel. They are, yet their return is not compleated. It states that they would control Jerusalem. They do. It states that the porch of the Old East Gate would be sealed. It is. It states that Israel would raise up a powerful army. They have. The Bible states that Israel will build a third Temple, The Jews are now trainning priest to serve in just such a temple, and a growing number of Jews are telling the government they want their Temple rebuilt. Everything the Bible said would happen, is happening. It's time to take the blinders off.
