I never really expected much from a shitty werewolf film with a bunch of neanderthalic squaddies thrown in for meat. And having expected so little of it, I was actually pleasantly surprised to find I rather enjoyed it....

Last film I watched was Wedding Crashers. It was a pile of poo and probably one of the worst concepts I've ever seen for a romantic comedy, but again, having similarly low expectations of it, I did get a laugh or two out of it. Still, American humour just ain't up to British standards....

Well I didn't know anything at all about it apart from things I'd heard like "a great British horror film"... so expecting something like 28 Days Later all I got was Carry On Werewolf:(

And yeah, Wedding Crashers is absolute drivel, I thought it seemed like a great concept - the wedding crashing idea - but the film was dire. At least it had that cute redhead from Home and Away in it.

I watched "A Clockwork Orange" on Channel 4 last night, but not all of it as the F1 highlights were on.

Seen Clockwork orange fifty times. I have Digital terrestrial so watched Golden Child last friday. Featuring Eddy Murphy, it is about some special child who is kidnapped by one of Satans servants I think.

I'm with Sal on 'Dog Soldiers' - wasn't expecting much, pleasantly suprised. 'The Descent' from the same director is far better though.

Last film I watched was 'Metropolis'. A silent film from 1927 by director Fritz Lang. T'was good stuff, I was really impressed at how good all the actors were. I made the comment that it wouldn't be anywhere near as believable hiring extras to play the rolls of the average workers if the film was made today.

Everyone looked so into the story, it was just bizarre imagining a director telling 100+ people, "Right, you're real angry, life in danger, run!" and have everyone doing a bang up job.

I generally have very low expectations of all modern horror films as 95% of the time they fail to scare or put you on edge or think. But when I come across something in that 5% I'm pretty impressed. None of them are like the glory days of Hammer Horror and no film has scared me quite so much as The Horror Express....
