the more potent it gets? true or false im serving up some shit but i stopped smoking just so i can get my grades back on track and i've been coming across some pretty nice buds that i hate to miss out on. so if i keep a tenner from each batch in a airtight container till my winterbreak does it get more potent? stay at the same level? or lose potency? i heard the first one is true but i dont know
Depends on age and how dry it was in the first place and weather it gains or loses water as you store it. Mj reaches its full potency when there's no water left in the buds. Other factors are how you store it your looking for cool and dry even if buds are still wet never expose to heat there take a little longer to dry but none of the thc will degrade so cool slow dry is best.
There is a curve. If it was dried properly, there is your start; but curing the bud for a few weeks to a couple months brings out the flavors and odors, as well as bringing the potency and high of the bud to it's fullest potential. BUT if you have it for too long, the potency will if I'm not mistaken start to decrease if you don't store it in near-perfect conditions. But to answer your question, you could keep the buds until winter break and they would be fine. I would store them in an airtight glass jar, and like rocklobster said keep them cool, dry and in the dark.
Weed is like a fine wine, it gets better with age. I've kept it in air tight glass jars for months. and it gets more potent upto about the second month then levels off for another month or two, the old saying "quality in quality out, garbage in garbage out " holds true with weed as well as wine though. don't expect the curing process to make weak weed better:>)
