Let me condense it for ya. My hair is a mohawk growout. Therefore uneven. I'm waiting for some more top and back length before I go full dread. I can get away with these at work because they are well hidden under lots of 'normal' hair. These are a trial for me. If I like the way these start to look within the next few months, and I feel like they'd suit me, I'll go full dreadhead. My hair grows quickly (I thank the fish oil I take every day and eating 90% natural) so I'll be ready soon, just not yet. I talked to my boss yesterday and he told me that when the time comes, I can wear a bandana to hide any birdsnest for the few hours a day that I work until it looks like 'presentable' dreads. Which is fantastic news for me because up until then I was unsure how I was going to pull all of it off when the time came. I just want a little more length first. And as I said, this is an experiment. I've been poking around here for a while now, and did lots of reading before I created the pathetic 6 little dreadlings I have now. I've seen a lot of very kind, helpful people, and some blatantly miserable people. I got over randomly insulting people I don't know on the internet (as well as in real life) in middle school. I am here to learn so that maybe one day I can be the chick with awesome dreads educating the haters and telling them to sniff my lovely hair if they call me filthy. All that being said, if you have nothing nice or helpful to say, don't waste your time typing up crap that's going to make you look like an ass, and don't waste my time via me reading it on my thread. Now I present you with some low quality photos. I leave my hair down, as I imagine it will dread easier that way. I pulled it up only for pix. These are 3 days old using the twist and rip method. They were a little chubbier yesterday, but right now they're damp so I think that might make them look a little scrawnier. I'll update pictures probably once a week just to show anyone curious progress and for my own reference since when they're on your head I imagine you don't always notice the changes. I washed once with baking soda. I normally wash every other day but I wanted to go a more natural route anyhow, so I'll try washing twice a week and eventually once a week. This will also make it easier when I'm ready to go full-dreadhead. Much love to my fellow-man brothers and sisters. Stay safe everyone and be well.
