Nope... I haven't seen it... nope, I'm not going to buy it... It'll pollute the earth... damn plastic... Kinda disappointed that there wasn't some big 2-disc special edition, but either/or...it's not worth buying to me. They'll probably save the 2 disc collector's edition for the sequal they're working on... Jesus II: The Electric Boogaloo - Jesus V. Godzilla. I think I'll save my four dollars for that one. I hope they'll have better special effects then... There's probably republican propaganda in it.... I wonder if siddhartha is on. Yay... take religion and turn it into a commercial industry. I've seen churches trying to sell cell phone plans. Hey Mel, You're surely going to enlighten us. We could have recycled some paper and used soy based inks to print a bible... ya know... the old fashioned way... oh wait... no... Mel!!! you didn't even think of the internet. You could google christianity and get the same information... but it's not entertaining and you won't make $300 million off of it!!! What are we to do!!! Thanks Mel. You surely have helped me see the light. ~ George
You know- I understand where you're coming fromw ith the whoel waste of plastic thing- because yeah- there is a ton of wasted stuff someing fromt he cases and junk- but (I'm not religous, AT ALL) i saw the movie because @ my job we're required to watch all the new realeses early- and I loved it. Ebven if you';re not religous, the stuff that they do to Jesus is terrible. It wouldn't matter if it was Jesus or some guy named Frank - I think you would be moved either way- it was a really well done movie- and I didn't come otu thinking "Oh I love Jesus now" but I had a new found respect for Mel as a film directer... it was just really good.
That's exactly what I'm talking about... I mean... yes, yes, yes... all of us aren't ignorant of the fact of what was done... but do we really need to be that descriptive... I mean... sure, if I was going to watch a gorish movie, I'd much rather see something like that as opposed to Saving Commander Dipshit, Band of Mothers, or Captain Ferrari's Autoharp.
I enjoyed the film even though I don't believe in Jesus in the way he is spoken of in the bible. I can't knock Mel on this one really. If he wants to express his faith through his art, more power to him. People shouldn't criticize Mel for making this movie for the same reason people shouldn't criticize Micheal Moore for making Farenheit 9/11. Neither of them made people go into the theatres and thus fatten their wallets. Coincidently, these are the only two films I've seen in the theatre over the past two years.
