The sigs are gone

No fair! I guess the boards are getting fixed.

 

Nah, we're being grounded for a week. There's a thread about it in announcements.

i just notice that skip was in your post and I read the explanation. What are spam sigs? Are they like that stupid spamming thing that they do in the yahoo games where they advertise multiple times?

 

seemed to be a myspace issue to start then grew from there and so on and so on and then multiple touchy points about being told what a person was thinking ect and so on and well life goes on.

 

putting hotlinks into sigs is known as advertising, or spamming the forums, if you will.

 

Is spam like the signature pics or putting a link to come visit a personal website? I really want to know so if it is I can take it off of here. I have a link for my sig so that people can come visit my site if they want but if this is a bad thing please tell me.

 

I looked it up on wikipedia and I think I get the picture linking thing.

 

pics is not advertising...... its any hotlink that takes you directly to a site, once you click it. advertising is promoting another site. so if you have any www link on your signature, or within posts you make, you risk getting banned. spam is terrible in these forums.... you dont know what lengths people go through...... and then people claim free speech whenever you get rid of the spam...... go figure.

 

issues with keeping the site up there in the search engine ranks, too many links to other sites like myspace ect lowers search engine ranking thus lowering the value of the site ect. Was mentioned that the link could be in your look up but not in your sig.

 

I am so confused without the sigs.

I'm so used to just knowing people by their sigs ... now we all look the same.

It's like a really cheap, ugly, purple school uniform.

 

I hope it saves my old sig, I liked it
