The Travellers

Has anyone ever dreamed of just letting go and walking away? My roommate and I are about to do just that. We are giving up our jobs...leaving our apartment...loading up a couple of backpacks and walking away. Life is too short to spend barely surviving at some dead end job in some backward ass town. If we're going to be scraping by here....why not do it while seeing the world?

i havent heard that word in a long time, i met some of "the travelers" in va beach once. the kids who hop trains and live out of bookbags and such.....

I take my hat of to ya. I've done the same thing and, believe it or not, I'm now in a better position than I was before I started travelling.

Did that as a teen. Parents came home and I was gone. Now that I look back I see how much I hurt them. But still, it was an exciting time and I grew from the experience.

Tonight was my last night at the old mini-mart......It felt good to clock out of there for the last time!!! I know I will have to work some other job somewhere else, maybe even another mini mart, but damn, did it feel good to realize that I was no longer responsible for that place!!!

To my two best friends I wish you the most of luck. I think I'm just as excited for you as you are. I just want to let you know that I'm here if there is anything I can do from the maze of baboyln let me know. I too want to leave but I have to go about it in a different way for now. But the time will come when I solve the rubics cube of Lebanon

 

Well, this is it. Today is the day we leave this soul sucking vortex of a midwestern town and go out exploring the world. Our first destination will be Pelee Island, Ontario.
I have never been there, or anywhere out of the US for that matter, but from the looks of the websites I've seen, it will be an enjoyable visit. We're catching a ride from here in Lebanon, Ohio from our friends Lawrence and Jessica, to Sandusky, Ohio, at the top of the state. From there, we hope to catch a Ferry boat to Pelee Island.

This should be interesting since my travelling companion, Will, is sort of afraid of water and has never been on a boat!
I don't have a laptop or anything and will be hiking most of the time, so I am not sure how soon I can make any updates to this story. So I will check in whenever I get a chance.
