God+Evil=Religon Religon starts with god.And how god will deal with evil.It starts with the observation that somthing is worng.Mabye we are ment to suffer.Or mabye not.Religon gives hope. But when humans take it they ruin it.We can't be trusted at all. Every thing we attached, greedy, naturally selfish pepole get our hands on we eventually mess it.The Goal of Religon is to make yourself better than a human via god who has given us a way out. We try are hardest to be good(well at least some of us.) In fact we like it.There is good and we can see it.But because we are also naturaly selfish (sin if your Christain Jewish Muslum, Evolution Primal instincs for everyone esle) So try your hardest to be good. God can help you alot qith this.I have no idea why i posted this.
Religion inspires spiritual pride. Because like you said, religion/spirituality is meant to enlighten us, but in our unenlightened selves, we are very prone to mess things up. All the while thinking we're on the right path because you're religious. Which makes you a morally righteous asshole...and makes enlightenment almost impossible, because you don't think your on the wrong path. I mean, after all, you've devoted your life to God; your a priest or a monk or a sadhu...you're on the only right path there is! Attachment in this area is the hardest to escape.
Perhaps there is no problems but the ones we have created. Within our minds lie the disease, within them lies the cure. We cannot be something different than what we are. The whole concept of "raising into divinity" is merely a way to escape ourselves and our problems. To say "we can't help it, we need something greater to take us away from these things" is to run away from our inner demons. To put the blame on another's shoulders, God's shoulders. Humans are flawed. Humans are inherently evil, we suffer for Adam and Eve's sins. How many can take their inner 'darkness' and sit with it, really observe it, without calling it evil (because that makes it easy to simply 'push' away, fight off temporarily)? Can anyone sit in the mirror reflection of the mind, can anyone sit with themselves as a whole? Can anyone simply accept themselves as they are? Not as judging, not as evil, not as good. But can anyone just be? Just look into the mirror and see 'what is'? I wonder what happens when the self is no longer trying to push aspects of itself out of itself. When one arm isn't trying to cut off another arm to stop it from gripping something 'bad'. Perhaps when you accept yourself as a whole being, not good or bad, you'll see you can lose the grip on that judgement of 'good and evil', and find some sort of peace. This of course, is all up to us. We do not need salvation from ourselves, we need acceptance of ourselves. Only when we have inner peace, inner acceptance, can any true action be done for the growth of, not ascension from humanity.
Organised religion is for those who don't trust themselves. By not trusting in self, people allow others to control their lives. Each of us has the most perfect of gifts ~ the gift of being and self. Those who find the truth of self find enlightenment. The kingdom of god is within. I am that I am. Evil would have everyone believe something other than this truth.
