This movement is about awareness, in avocation of a fluid evolutionary progress, both personal, social, technological and spiritual. It recognizes that the human species is on a natural path for unification, derived from a communal acknowledgment of fundamental and near empirical understandings of how nature works and how we as humans fit into/are a part of this universal unfolding we call life. While this path does exist, it is unfortunately hindered and not recognized by the great majority of humans, who continue to perpetuate outdated and hence degenerative modes of conduct and association. It is this intellectual irrelevancy which the Zeitgeist Movement hopes to overcome through education and social action.

The Zeitgeist Movement is not a political movement. It does not recognize nations, governments, races, religions, creeds or class. Our understandings conclude that these are false, outdated distinctions which are far from positive factors for true collective human growth and potential. Their basis is in power division and stratification, not unity and equality, which is our goal. While it is important to understand that everything in life is a natural progression, we must also acknowledge the reality that the human species has the ability to drastically slow and paralyze progress, through social structures which are out of date, dogmatic, and hence out of line with nature itself. The world you see today, full of war, corruption, elitism, pollution, poverty, epidemic disease, human rights abuses, inequality and crime is the result of this paralysis.

The goal is to revise our world society in accord with present day knowledge on all levels, not only creating awareness of social and technological possibilities many have been conditioned to think impossible or against "human nature", but also to provide a means to overcome those elements in society which perpetuate these outdated systems. An important association, upon which many of the ideas of this movement are derived come from an organization called " The Venus Project" directed by social engineer and industrial designer, Jacque Fresco. He has worked nearly his entire life to create the tools needed to assist a design of the world which could eventually eradicate war, poverty, crime, social stratification and corruption. His notions are not radical or complex. They do not impose a subjective interpretation in their formation. In this model, society is created as a mirror of nature, with the variables predefined, inherently.

The movement itself is not a centralized construct.

We are not here to lead, but to organize and educate.

Boycott Citibank, Bank of America, JP Morgan...

Boycott Major TV News feeds (FoxNews, MSNBC, etc.). Get your news from the internet.

    Boycott Gasoline....

    Boycott the Military....

Boycott this entire monetary society that we live in that is 100% based on greed, human suffering, economic slavery, scarcity, and complete corruption.

    Protect the internet....

I totally and completely agree, as far as I can tell, with the Venus Project.

Unfortunately, I don't see it happening anytime in my life time. I think, at least in the United States, that it would be extremely hard to convert people over to this notion on thinking because they are so stuck in their ways. While I think a lot of other countries would be more open to this notion, it would take on hell of a radical change for people to even consider there is a possibility of thinking and living in the way of no money, no government, and working with the environment instead of using it.

    You look gorgeous, Stazzy.

    Back to the OP;

I'm totally with you on this, but I see no way to survive in modern society without money. Gasoline, news, etc, I can do, but how will I eat, pay rent, etc?

You do realize that the internet is a product of our monetary society, and the infrastructure that supports this a vast one. The internet would not be without gasoline, power, vehicles, corporations, land clearing, public utilities etc. etc.

It's not that I don't agree in principle with you, it's just that the internet would not be there without the other.

I think Western Governments would definately have to fuck up hardcore for people to realize that this isn't the way they live. If there's one thing I've noticed in my TWENTY years on Earth, its that I'm pretty sure the American people are the most stubborn in the world. Maybe if we were more closely connected and not seperated by a vast ocean, we would realize that there are different ways of living.

And why exactly do you think I would put a picture of my mom as my signiture? And what about that picture makes me look so old, may I ask?

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^

some things are better left alone..

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

the venus project is nothing more than a utopian dream..

its absolutely impossible to sustain a society where no one works.

if you compare it to the elite/new world order/Illuminatis plans they are exactly the same except for they leave out the slaves that keep everything going for those that sit on their asses all day and pontificate their magnificence.. oh and doing away with 4/5 of the worlds population of course..

I was watching the Zeitgeist Addendum and I realized why he put to protect the internet. The Zeitgeist Addendum is encouraging gathering your daily news from independent sources off the internet because they're less likely to be filtered by the government, like CNN, Fox, CBS, etc.

Just wanted to put that out there.

Obviously. I didn't get the impression that they wanted to abolish work altogether, rather use technology to our advantage and ease our work load. If anything, there will be more work to be done, but at least it'll be work with meaning.

Is it a utopian dream? Maybe. Is it achievable? Certainly. But something like this won't work with people resisting change kicking and screaming, and clutching to outdated and ineffective systems like the monetary one.

Global awareness needs to be raised and we need to work together as a species.

We have the technology and resources to make our planet the truly wondrous paradise it has the potential to be, but those resources are instead squandered on self-destruction and perpetuation of a society that leaves the vast majority of its subjects wanting and suffering with its foolishly ineffective systems.

oh i got that impression. a few months ago we dug pretty deep into it..the impression i got from the fruit loop that is pushing this is that its a world where no one works.

doesnt matter, quite frankly it will never happen independent of the elite of the world .

they already have a venus project planned for themselves with a select few chattel to be their slaves and do their bidding. of course if you watched zeitgeist you already know that.

we commoners wont be allowed to get anywhere close to achieving something like the venus project even if it could be pulled off without a working class.

Hm. Well, that might be right. They may be delusional enough to think that anything of worth is achievable without hard, back-breaking work. I had a look at their forums, and there are certainly enough people on there who think this can be done and the big challenges are going to be how to fill all their free time, what to wear, and such.

But that is of minor importance. The Venus Project is not the solution, it's a solution, and things will pan out differently. What is of major importance is that awareness is raised so that enough people understand, really understand, that such an endeavor is no fool's errand, as long as we are willing and able to work together as a species.

I think that the Venus Project does lean more towards the abolishment of jobs, which I don't necessarily agree with. I do agree that we should use technology to our advantage and maybe abolish factory jobs for instance and give more opportunities to have jobs that we love. That way people won't go to work just to get a paycheck but so they can be paid through a feeling of fulfilment. People should be given equal opportunity to take a dive at a career that they want, instead of wishing because they don't have the money to receive the education for that job. (Yes, I was going to a four year college and eventually wanted to get my Ph.D. but had to transfer home because I didn't have the money to continue my education there! Now, I'm stuck at a shitty community college that is regarded as a joke, all because its better than nothing and its all I can afford.)

Wait a second, what about our Mother Earth? This is just all about human society, but we have to look at the whole earth because she is what sustains us! Human society amounts to nothing if we destroy her.

Thats another component of the Venus Project, is that the technology used is sustainable.

No offense deary but I think its your nose and cheeks. They're very defined and ther'es defined lines for your age, not so much the puffy healthy roundness of early 20s. Your face has more angles.
