personally i think it is but they still have good songs on the album like mother, but i much rather like the early Pink Floyd when they where much more psychedelic. What do you think?

I don't know it just seems like they lost that Pink Floyd sound. Songs like Bike, Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk, and The Gnome much better

the wall is amazing. i agree with hushbull though animals rocks!! my favourite animal i think.

and yeah they were just evolving as members came and went. i would say that as much as like the final cut, i would say that is more of a waters album than floyd and that from there things did change in there music quite dramatically. i love everything they have ever done, but the earlier stuff does stand out more than the 80's era work i would say.

the only musician that sounded good in the 80s was tom waits (ok this is blatantly untrue but yah he's the man)

haha so true. pink floyd is unbeaten. when i started listening to them, i felt like my mind was liberated from the shitty music of today and the way of thinking.

my favorite album is dark side of the moon as a whole. out of the wall, there are a handful of songs that i really love more than the others so i cant really call it my favorite. but nothing beats comfortably numb and the title song.

i felt a bit like that too, my dad and brother were floyd fans tho so i grew up with them. dsotm is amazing, i like animals and wwyh too though, its such a close pitch between a few for top spot.

Sometimes the ghost spill out of mouths...

    Were you talking to me?

The first gig I ever went to was Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium.

Love the Floyd, they have a special place in my heart. But for me the Final Cut was the final cut as far as there latter output is concerned.

I'd say Animals is their true masterpiece, but maybe I'm biased from when I used to listen to it all the time as a depressed youngster. DSOTM is very good but a little flawed lyrically, Meddle sublime, and The Wall is very powerful as well. Wish You Were Here is up there with them, have to admit I cried the first time I heard the title track!

Their early stuff is very creative, but I find their 70's output does the most for me.

That was Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd. They are almost two different bands. If you prefer that stuff you should listen to Barrett's solo stuff more than Pink Floyd :p

My personal favourite album would have to be Wish You Were Here, followed closely by DSOTM. Then followed by Meddle!
