They totally do kick ass. Good call on Heaven and Hell there. Such a brilliant tune.

    The Who is indeed incredible.

Ya know, I never cared for the Who, but I was fortunate enough to win a trip to New York back in 1989 to see them perform Tommy at Radio City Music Hall, and it still remains as one of the top 5 concerts I have ever seen, and I have seen many.

The Who.. LEGENDS. Baba o'Reilly, man what a song. Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again... Those guys were such an awesome combination of musicians. Keith Moon's totally manic drumming (I take a lot of cues from him), Pete Townshend's awesome stage presence, windmills and crazy jumps and knee-slides, Roger Daltrey's almost-gravelly voice and John Entwhistle's mad basslines that somehow held everything together, only just. I would've killed to have seen these guys live. Why couldn't I have been born a few decades earlier?

Don't forget that Roger Daltrey has the absolute best scream ever recorded in Rock and Roll in "Won't Get Fooled Again," right after some killer beats on Keith Moon's drum kit.

    Ye ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

    Awesome.

I did the same thing! I was like 'Why, for the love of pancakes, would someone give this away?'
The Who rock. Once, my Dad and I were walking through the village where we live, casual as anything, and then we see Pete frikkin Townsend just walking across the street from us. I told my Dad to go up and talk to him, but he was so star-struck he just stood there giggling like a schoolgirl. To this day, we still both regret not going up to him and saying hi, because, really, what are the chances of getting another opportunity like that again?

Check out the song Relax off of Sell Out. Very trippy. Or Armenia City In The Sky.

Hell, Sell Out is way overlooked; nudged out by all of the press mandatory gushing over Pepper and Pet Sounds.

i saw them in concert 2 years ago in columbus it was awesome! It was only pete and roger though obviously, but i think either petes son or someones son played drums and they were great, pete was still doin windmills, they had an awesome set.

Zak Starkey, son of Ringo, plays drums. Townshend's brother Simon plays back up guitar.

I liked Simon Phillips for their 1989 on drums though. Yeah he's real technical but he filled a lot of Moon's trademark snap decision fills with speed and volume. Unfortunately, the rest of the band's sound was way over the top with horns and all sorts of other shit. Townshend called that tour, "The Who On Ice" which is rather fitting of a description.

They're much better now with Townshend assuming his old loud and massive buzzsaw sound.

yeah they really were great, my girlfriend at the time and i really put a lot of money into seeing them but it was worth it, we had this older groovy couple next to us, who turned us on and got us high. they were probably in their 40's and we were only 19 so it was one generation helping another. but the show was outa sight
