OK, I'm not one for appocalipitc prophisies, but I'm sure this is not a good idea... I found this article on digg some moments ago: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/science/article3511818.ece Now, the plan is to put an information bank on the moon so after an appocolapse of some sort, mankind will be able to recieve information on how to survive (IE: farming, hunting, healthcare...ect...). BUT, if there are on surviving recievers and all the information on survival is on the moon, how can we get any information? The words 'epic fail' come to mind...
mankind will need to be retaught how to wipe theyre asses, how to cook, how to build shelters, we will need to be reminded that plants grow from seeds we'll need to be retaught everything we ever knew, but ofcourse we'll somehow instinctively know to build receivers (suposedly with no knowledge of metals or electricity) either we forget everything we ever knew so therefore cannot build receivers, or, we remember who we are what we do and know and can build recveivers therefore making whats stored on the moon useless entirely personaly i think ifg there is a disaster that big, mankind would only benifit from forgetting much we learned about building societies and started over fresh knowing little more then how to plant seeds to survive
They probably won't build it and just keep the money, or something even more sinister. Why would we need this? If evolution hasn't failed us, the fit humans should know survival instinctively.
