The article doesn't say they've conquered thermodynamics, because they haven't, but they have reduced thermodynamics in physics for almost all practical purposes. Simplified them down enough that AI can now easily design things like clothing that charges your batteries, and electronics that don't waste the slightest bit of heat. Theoretically, you could design graphene yarn that you could throw in a fire to both clean your pants and recharge your battery quick. You could paint houses with materials that recharge your batteries, and keep the house cold or warm.
