I've been away for about six months, where I couldn't really pay attention to what is going on. So, I'm back and I see the Federal Government is still trying to control us all, still trying to completely remake the greatest country in the world.

I just heard about a guy in New Jersey that got away with a DUI because the cops couldn't explain the process in Spanish. How did this guy get a driver's license? Supposedly the test is given in 9 languages. How scary is that??!! We speak English in this country, if you don't speak English you have no business driving a car. How can you read the signs if you don't understand English? How can a guy get away with DUI simply because he can't understand the cops asking him to blow into a machine.

Can someone please explain to me what the problem is in Arizona? Sounds like Washington isn't enforcing the laws, so Phoenix is just trying to do it for them. What is wrong with that? The law explicitly says the cops can't stop people based on race, although we all know that racial profiling still does exist, so the law shouldn't increase racial profiling by the cops. I don't understand the problem. If you are breaking the law, the cops take you in. And that includes the law over who is legally allowed to be in this country.

You think the immigration laws are racist? Watch "The Proposal", Sandra Bullock doesn't look like a Mexican to be, but she got tied up in immigration laws.

And don't start with that stupid argument that why should only some people be allowed in. Please. What, we should just let everyone in? HAHAHA

How are they trying to control us? Healthcare reform, cap and trade, increased taxes, opening the borders wide open for all of the world to stroll in, continuing the destruction of the economy that the liberal congress started in 2006 and restrictions on my gun rights are just a few ways these assholes are trying to control us.

And forgive me for loving my country. But I love the freedoms we have here, that you don’t get in other countries. I think many people take for granted how lucky we are to live here. Australia and England get close, but I don’t think they have all the freedoms we do, especially concerning the first, fourth and tenth amendments. So, it is my opinion, like many other people, that this is the greatest country in the world, and Obama and Co. are royally fucking it up.

About the guy in Jersey that should have gotten the DUI; I thought my ire was self-explanatory. Yes, stop signs are universal. I’ve even seen signs in Europe that said “STOP”, not “ALTA” or “ARRET”, but what about all the other signs. School Zone, do not enter, construction zone warnings, the big electronic customizable signs, no parking, yield, etc, etc, etc. You need to be able to do more than recognize the street signs, you should be able to read them. Plus, the fact that this cop couldn’t communicate with the drunk guy. That is scary. I am saying that people should have to abide by the laws; I didn’t say anything about the cops. They couldn’t get him to blow into the machine or do a road sobriety test, and they couldn’t find a Spanish-speaking cop to come translate, and they can’t hold the suspect indefinitely, so I guess they let him go. And he got away with a DUI.

Whatever, on to the Arizona thing. I was just watching Stephen Colbert talking to some guy that was a representative for the farm workers saying how Americans don’t want to do the jobs that the migrant workers do. Well, this may be true. So, let’s let some LEGAL immigrants do the farm work, hmm? No one ever thought of that one, eh?

Wait, wait, you are very confused, Jack. We don’t want the Federal Government in our business, but we EXPECT them to be. They have to for certain things. Immigration is obviously one place where Washington should enforce the rules, it’s not Brewer’s job, but since Obama wasn’t doing it, she stepped up. And I say Congrats, I wish Crist had balls like that. I think more states should draft bills like that to support Arizona.

All I was saying, when I mentioned “The Proposal” is that our immigration laws aren’t racist, they are applied towards all people that aren’t citizens, like Sandra Bullock who was a Canadian in that movie. No we don’t need to run the country based on a movie. I just was just making a point.


Obama sucks, and I can't wait to get control of congress in November. I am damn sure voting for Marco Rubio.

Also historically immigration as always been the domain of the federal government, and it's been Republicans who have blocked attempts at legislation at the federal level specifically so they can say the federal government isn't doing anything about it and do shit like the Arizona bill. Or in the case of Oklahoma trying to make it so being born in the US doesn't automatically guarantee citizenship, despite the fact it flies legally in the face of the 14th Amendment. But hey, to hell with the constitution if it keeps Mexicans out right?

Also Arizona is the state that is going to have sheriff Joe as it's never governor and killed S-CHIP because it wouldn't increase the sales tax by 1 penny, so really automatically anything that was born in Arizona should be laughed at and mocked.

Why? There's a reason there's not a federal national language. And the only reason there are state ones is because Americans can't handle change, state national languages are a recent phenomenon. Historically as well as in this exact moment there are millions of people in the United States who live their lives fine without having to know English.

Very few street signs have words, but, lo and behold........................knowing what street signs mean is a rather large requirement of passing the written part of the driving test. Most signs can be understood by anyone who's illiterate in all languages.

The Feds actually catch and send back over a million and a half people a year, for a 2,500 mile border they're doing pretty good. It's kind of hard to catch every single person when people keep trying until they finally succeed. And Republicans constantly block debate on any immigration bill what so ever, they have no proposals of their own except building a fence and pipe dreams of deporting every person in the United States.

Learning Spanish would in fact for success be the beneficial thing for an American to do, but will they ever do it? No. It's not about Hispanic immigration to the US, English may be the lingua franca of the world currently but Spanish is the 2nd most spoken native language after mandarin Chinese, knowing English and Spanish will basically make you able to communicate with the entire western hemisphere(Brazil being the exception, but a large number of Brazilians can either speak Spanish or English)

I think this is a little bit of a myth. I do think none English speaking European countries speak more than one language, and I would say the other language is English. I would say Americans compare favourably with learning one other language...the same as most Europeans.
