It says something that you chose hooting celebrating graphics for this.
Its also interesting how you (and many others) will instantly accept this as a 'proven fact' and call it 'science' or something.
Meanwhile, archeological finds 'for' Christianity with more credibility than this wouldnt pass your 'scoff test'.

But yeah, its being done by two of my favourite directors so I will be looking forward to the film.

If you're a Christian, wouldn't this be the greatest discovery ever?

At least it proves he was a REAL person. A lot of ppl don't believe that!

    So be happy Xtians!

They can't find Bin Laden, but they found Jesus (apparently he hasn't gone ANYWHERE in 2000 years!)

Well I think you already revealed the cause of your joy being the death of the resurrection.

Whats kinda interesting to me is that for centuries its always been a sort of 'legendary idea' that Christianity would stand "unless someone find the bones of Jesus".
    And,
It really has made me wonder when someone would find such a thing.
It doesnt have to be good either.
Just enough to create a 'question' that it could or could not be.
    But,
This is a find from about 25 years ago and you are probably wondering just why its 'news' again?
Well mainly because of the film coming out and if I know Simcha and Cameron its gonna come across as extremely compelling.
    Mind you,
So did James Ossuary too... and now probably a hoax.

But yeah, this is gotta be thrilling stuff for you Skip.. pretty much this is the moment where Christianity is gonna get the rug pulled out from under it and rubbed in its face too!
You were RIGHT ALL ALONG and aint it a goooooood mmmmm feeling?

    Update:
This is actualy kind of interesting because at some point (and i kinda want to laugh) they loaned out the coffins and one of them got stolen.
Yes, stolen after someone left it outside.
Anyways, its been a while since this thing got any good hype but now the original expert dude is raining on your parade skip.

Bar-Ilan University Prof. Amos Kloner, the Jerusalem District archeologist who officially oversaw the work at the tomb in 1980 and has published detailed findings on its contents, on Saturday night dismissed the claims. "It makes a great story for a TV film," he told The Jerusalem Post. "But it's impossible. It's nonsense."

Kloner, who said he was interviewed for the new film but has not seen it, said the names found on the ossuaries were common, and the fact that such apparently resonant names had been found together was of no significance. He added that "Jesus son of Joseph" inscriptions had been found on several other ossuaries over the years.

"There is no likelihood that Jesus and his relatives had a family tomb," Kloner said. "They were a Galilee family with no ties in Jerusalem. The Talpiot tomb belonged to a middle-class family from the 1st century.

Doesn't finding the bones of Jesus prove Christianity to be bull? I mean, isn't the whole "Christ has risen" deal sort of central, and if he HAD risen, wouldn't his bones be, well.... non existant? Unless he didn't rise, and Simon or someone just moved his bones... but then again... we are back to the whole "Christ has risen" thing being bullhonky.

    Yes it would.
Christianity as we know it would effectively be over and done.

Its always been tossed about as a sort of 'hypothetical scenario' even before 1980.
"If they find his bones that ends Christianity" as a sort of 'what if'.

Its been a wet dream of antichristians for centuries.

So much for Cameron and Jacobovici.

Thankfully Jesus already prepared us for this. In Mathew 24 Jesus tells us, that if anyone comes to you and tells you that He is to be found in some inner room, don't believe them. For as lightning comes from the east and is visible in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Jesus already prepared us for the future lies that would be made against Him. There maybe tombs with the names of Jesus, and family members, but it is not the Jesus of the Resurrection. And the Bible warns us of this. My phone Book has a listing for J. Christ, yet I'm not going to dial that number, I think I will just keep praying.

Don'tcha get it? He HAS returned. Dead as he's been for 2000 years!

So what if his flesh was mortal? That don't mean shit. We are STILL immortal beings, and a sort of God still exists, but it just ain't what the Xtians believe. They just don't understand the real nature of reincarnation. Resurrection it ain't. Jesus was just another Buddha. (imho).

I know, it's just another Bin Laden terrorist plot to discredit Xtianity so that the support falls out for the New Crusades in the Mideast, right? James Cameron is just another jihadist. Yup I can hear the preachers sermons next week already...

And yes Jesus IS to be found in an "inner room". He does exist within us all in the form of Buddha. We just need to find "ourselves" and the truth will become clear, without a bible, without a church, without the dogma, hypocricy and 2000 years of religious intolerance, persecution and war.

"The truth" that "shall set you free" isn't to be found in a heavily edited, expurged, revised & politically motivated "bible", but within each of us.

Maybe your Jesus is dead, but the Jesus I worship is alive. And Thomas found out quickly that the flesh of Jesus was not mortal. After the Cross Jesus appeared to His disciples and He told Thomas "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe. And Thomas said to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!"

Skip, Jesus wants you to STOP DOUBTING AND BELIEVE. And real truth can be seen in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. And I have to tell you skip, I really know who Jesus Christ is. My faith is strong, because the God that motivates me, has been active in my life for a long time. I have seen way to much of Jesus Christ to leave Him now for a false belief system. I have actually heard His voice. He is alive, and He is coming back again. And that is why the Jews are being assembled back in Israel. Jesus will soon have wonders to preform.

skip, it doesn't change anything in my book... he's still the christ, the messiah... superstar... anyone who can live together with his wife, mother, brothers and sisters and children is a messiah in my book

'It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua."

Don't get your hopes up to high BraveSirRubin,

It's just like Evolution, they always bring out the brass band first when they think they have found the missing link, but as always, they find out it's not, and then no ones available for comment.

Perhaps they should do some forensic examinations on this "body" and see if there is any evidence of crucifixion ie nail wounds, spear wounds and crown of thorn wounds instead of just DNA tests. See if it matches the historical record.

What good is DNA?? One really doesn't know whose it is, all we have supposedly according to the article is a casket with the name Jesua on it.....

Yes, it might be just as false as evolution or anything else that makes a tad of sense. Oh well, speculations are petty. All I want to do is have little babies which I could later eat with the Jesus.

The crucifixion and such could be a myth in itself. DNA is a much stronger basis for evidence that the bible, which is nowhere near a historic record.

DNA may be stronger evidence but who can you match it up with??? How can you know it's Jesus??

You see, that's the question that puzzles me too. Nothing to truly match it up with, but I do hope that the documentary shalt explain that one.

Maybe they extracted God's DNA from the stratosphere.
