This absolutely sucks.

I know this isn't meant to go in this forum, but I post here most and don't know anyone in the mushrooms forum.

So I've been planning to get some mushrooms for over the holidays through my cousin and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend got them a few days ago and I was excited because I'm going up there on the 4th, which would be when we'd trip. Well, her boyfriend decided to take it upon himself without asking me or my cousin and he put them in chocolate. The only problem is, I'm vegan, and he knows this, and I know he must've used milk/possibly eggs and a bunch of other crap in the chocolate. I'm not the type of person who's gonna eat the chocolate just because I want the mushrooms...he just should've been less of an asshole and thought first before making them. Now I'm annoyed and angry, and I just hope something works out.

I'm out of weed anyway with no money to get more. I have a little salvia left but I'm never home alone to do it, and I'd rather not risk it while my parents are sleeping because I laugh uncontrollably loud on it.

Ok, well...hopefully I'll at least get some free weed from my cousin when I see her.

but in order to make it taste the way it does you add milk & all sorts of other things that are vegan friendly so the end part is far from being just a bean.

 

That really sucks, cause shrooms are really fun.

just eat the chocolate... its not even a food its a candy jeez. it cant be healthy not eating normal foods, ever hear of the food chain?

 

It's part of her belief system. She isn't worried about it because of health issues, she just doesn't believe in eating anything containing animal products. If she ate the shrooms, she would probably have a bad trip at the thought of violating her vegan diet.

 

did he chop them up then put them in the chocolate, or did he just dip each cap into chocolate?? If the caps were individually dipped you can break the chocolate away from the cap....kind of a pain in the ass but you get like 99% of the chocolate off. If they were chopped up and put into chocolate tho....its a different story. Hope everything works out for ya.

 

^ I'm not sure what he did, I'll see what they look like when I get there and if there's anything I can do...even just peeling it off though might make it hang in the back of my mind, not good. My cousin said he might've left a few without chocolate, but she doesn't know for sure.

Rob1134, I didn't start this thread to discuss my beliefs or to defend myself, I was just mentioning something unfortunate that happened to me. And thanks TNS for explaining, couldn't have said it better.

 

Well, yea I am a veg not complete vegan but I can understand how you feel I wouldnt lower myself for mental amusement when I am living an honorable lifestyle of self sacrifice and acceptance. Definitley would have been an annoying little demon floating around in yer head on that trip! But so what if you dont know the people in the mushrooms forum, come and say hi sometime

oh and about the mushrooms, what if u made a tea from them and then filtered it so that maybe the choc would remain in the filter- this might sound dumb but im a bit high and i came uop with it

Does he know what a vegan is? =p Yeah, he was shocked to know I don't wear leather/fur/wool etc, so I can't imagine why he'd think I still drink milk/eat eggs.

RELAYER- Exactly...vegetarianism matters to me more than any drug. And I've posted a few times in the mushroom forum, but I don't have much to say because I've never even tried them

Would it be ok to boil them?
Say, get off as much chocolate as possible, boil them, drain the water and boil again?

I'd just eat them anyway. At least it's not meat.

I don't understand.. animals eat each other all the time.


However, if you believe strongly enough in something, stick with it, there will be more shrooms in the future but if being a vegan is important to you then if you break it once that goal is pretty much lost. I see from reading the topic that this is pretty much the decision you came to.

While I don't understand your view, I do respect it, so good luck.
