this afternoon's trip to the headshop

today i went to the local headshop in my new town. i went primarily hoping to find ozium, and i wasnt disappointed. they didnt have the citrus or vanilla scents unfortunately, but the classic works just as well as the others. it just has a nondescript cleaning formula aroma. but it knocks out the smell of grass like no other!

but now that i have ozium, i feel safe to smoke in my dorm room.

its a single, but i was nervous.

but now i can smoke just a one-hit bowlpack (most often will be from my cigarette one hitter, unless i just put a tiny pinch in a pipe)

i have a dasani water bottle with slits in the bottom stuffed with drier sheets.

take the single hit, and inhale EVERYTHING until it burns out. no exception....

then i exhale through the water-bottle baffle, into a fan.

the fan is pointed out the window, the drapes cover the entire window area EXCEPT where the fan is.

after exhaling, i inhale through my nose then blow the stagnant air through the baffle. i do this three or four times for good measure.

after i remove myself from the baffle, i spray a little ozium in the room. in my experience, this alone should be enough. but i will not risk it. i will still always use a baffle. this is my new ritual for school. it is the least risky way to smoke, especially if i space out the hits by a minimum of 15 minutes.

on thanksgiving break i intend to take back all but my one hitter, so i have no glass with me. in its place i will bring my ivape, which will be even less odoriferous than smoking a one hitter or something.....

vape for inside, cigarette one hitter for outside.



in addition to the ozium, i got a pack of djarum specials....so i have some sweet, spicy kreteks now.

finally i bought a bag of pistachios to munch on. useful right now

so what did you buy last time you went to the head shop? how has it benefitted you?

Last thing I bought was my SSV Grinder and it has treated me very well.

 

Great set up man... i can just walk out my door and smoke outside but if i ever want to do it inside thats how im gonna do it

 

grinders are always nice, especially if you're rolling joints or blunts!

what does SSV stand for?

 

i might have to get some of that ozium does it really get rid of the smell of weed all the way

 

SSV= Silver Surfer Vaporizer, its the brand of vapes my local headshop carries. Its actually a pretty nice grinder to be quite honest.
Its 3" in diameter and 2" tall

 

in addition to being low-odor, it is incredibly stingy and conservative in nature.

i have been sticking almost exclusively to the one-hitter since i got here, and for me a big session now consists of maybe 4 or 5 hits while going for a walk.

i bought a quarter before i got here, and it is pretty decent, but a bit beastery. still, i paid 80 for a quarter, so its allowed to be a little beastery. at least its a more honest price than the 100/quarter i'm used to, and its strong enough even if it isnt the nicest looking or more fragrant and flavorful. anyway, i'm coming into the fourth week on campus! time flies.

and i'm still on the same quarter! i'm running low, mind you, but given my new stinginess, i dont anticipate running out until at LEAST the end of the week. i would wager i can manage another 10 days minimum though.

i waited a couple days from the purchase until i'd been here a few days, and i'd been out for 2 days prior, so when i finally smoked, my tolerance was way down.

since i had a lowered tolerance when i first smoked and i've also been very conservative since i got here, i still have a very respectable amount left. i have smoked like two or three normal bowls (never finished in one sitting though), also one very small personal blunt (rolled with a cigarillo rather than a normal blunt) and one joint i smoked with some other folks that had a joint to share....well, all in all, i'm still amazed i've made an eighty dollar quarter last close to a month, when back in the day it would have lasted me 3 days at very best.

nice i'd like to get a grinder with a screen. i have a very basic wooden grinder. hard to get any yield from it other than bits of weed stuck in the teeth. sure resin builds up, but it gets compact and hashy. if i scrape it off, i inevitably scrape small amounts of wood up with it.

someday when i grow i will get a nice silk screen setup to make hash from my trimmings and broken up buds as well.....

but a trich catching grinder would be more useful in the near future.

 

its one of the best things i know of. i've heard other people on here suggest things i haven't tried, but this stuff seriously neutralizes almost all odors in a room.

a notable exception applies: it may help, but do not expect ozium to destroy the smell of a joint or even worse a blunt. normal use of the product can't compete with such large amounts of smoke. same with cigarettes or cigars.

i would only advise it with pipes. and even though in my experience it does virtually all you could need, there is no sense in NOT using other techniques. a baffle/spoof/blow tube/groove tube is definitely recommended in addition to the ozium. further, loading no more than a sngle hit is vital. this ensures a copmlete absence of second hand smoke.

all the smoke you inhale is masked somewhat by the groove tube.
ozium will knock out the smell of regular pot pretty damn well. the baffle will remove about half of the pot smell. this ensures that the ozium will do its job, and you can reliably get the smell down by about 99%.

having a fan blowing outward and covering up the bottoms of doors as well as any vents in the room will make it essentially foolproof.

a vape will help even more, so long as you dont have the type that tend to get too hot and burn the weed.

 

I've been to headshops a few times, but I don't think I'm ever going to go again, since discovering online shops and especially motherfucking EBAY.

 

I just bought a chromium chrusher for 20 bucks on ebay (got 2 of them, one for astro)

They seem like very good quality grinders, but only time will tell.

 

man but toronto headshops are so much better than in the us...but i guess it depends on what you want to get

 

I like to support my local headshop, Plus I'd rather spend a couple more bucks to see the piece in person and actually hold it before buying it. Plus my headshop has alot of nice locally blown stuff too that you cant find online anywheres.

 

nicee dude im going to have to get some. i have a pretty good set up right now ill smoke a bowl next to this window fan i have tht fits right in the window and blows alot of it out and then ill use the ozium to mask of the tiny little bit of smell left in the air, should be a pretty good addition to it.

I have only been to a headshop once and that was about a week and a half ago. It was really cool too! I bought some herbal blends to mix with weed which are amazing and the lions tail enhances the high significantly.

I also picked up pure hemp rolling papers. They're 4 inches long and somewhere in between blunt wraps and normal papers But they taste really good and have no chemicals or anything nasty.

 

ozium is amazing. i prefer the original scent to any of the flavored scents.

 

This is true in terms of selection, maybe, but the prices are still stupid.

A bong that costs 100$ at Toronto Hemp Company costs maybe 50$ on a website, and like 1-20$ on ebay. It's a no-brainer. Little things like grinders and papers and what not, again, they gouge you at head shops, drive the price up around 1,000% (literally). F that.

 

thats true. i got a sweet carved wooden chillum at THC though, and i've not seen those at ANY us headshop. it wasn't too expensive, either, and the bowl was carved like a regular bowl, eliminating the chillum stone used in traditional chillums. also there was a carved stone lining in the bowl. it broke out of there eventually, but it works just fine still and has an even bigger bowlpack....

plus you can buy seeds and spores in headshops there. at least you could when i was there.

and unless the cops stance has changed and it had to shut down, hotbox cafe/roachorama is pretty chill

 

so i had quite a scare last night. i smoked a few good hits of pot in my room using the fan, baffle and ozium and everything.

it smelled like i'd cleaned, not like i'd smoked weed in there. but i get paranoid anyway....

so anyhow i decided to walk two blocks to get some munchies at the student union. it
was after 10pm, and the only thing still open was a pizza hut express which is open till 11 most nights. i pick up a pizza and go to pay, and they say i can just have it for free! they put stickers with freshness times on them, i think it must have had something to do with it.

so i got a free little pizza! which is good cause pizza hut isnt that good to begin with, i hate paying for it.

but so i'm walking back to the dorm, and i notice an ambulance and two cop cars sitting outside with their lights flashing. having just smoked then dipped out i was nervous maybe someone DID smell it and called the cops or something.....

eventually i found out that somone in another building in our dorm had hyperventilated or something so they called the ambulance, and apparently when they call an ambulance on campus two cops always tend to accompany it...


i was sweatin though!
