For those of you who ever watch MTV, maybe you have seen this new show called "Battle for Ozzfest" where band members battle it out to secure their band a spot in next year's ozzfest. And Im sure there are not many of you unfamiliar with ozzy's infamous biting the head off of a bat during a concert. I have heard Sharon (his wife) explain this incident and she said that he didnt realize it was a real bat, he thought it was fake, or rubber.....whatever. I know Sharon is all about her animals, and has recently decided to stop wearing fur, so what I dont understand is what is gonna go down in this weeks show. Apparhently what the band members have to do is actually bite the head off of a LIVE BAT! I have only seen the promo clips for the upcoming week where they show the poor bat in a cage, then cut to a chick bending over while everyone chants "BITE THE BAT" and then she comes up with blood on her mouth. And they actually say "she will have to bite the head off a live bat". This made me so sick. How can they do something like this? How are they legally allowed to do this? How are animal rights groups not all over their asses? I dunno, Im confused how somthing like this can go down...and Im very upset about it. I just needed to say something about it because it's making me so mad. I dont even want to go to Ozzfest next year. Im going to write a letter........to someone. Anyone else seen this? I hope that maybe it's all just a farce, but judging by the promos........seemed very real indeed.
Yeah, my son was watching that show the other day... It caught my attention while I was on the computer. I saw the part where they were describing that they were going to have to bite the head off a live bat. I said to my son "That's animal cruelty. I don't think they'll be able to go through with it."
I wonder if it id just a trick though, to scare them a bit. May end up being a fake one. But if they are live bats, that would definitely piss me off. I like bats...my family has a bat house in the yard, and those little fellows nab all the bugs for us. Love em!
If you havnt realized yet, a large corporation like MTV can do whatever they want in corporate america. Also, sheron was probably legally forced to because she binded into a contract with MTV to do the show and she has to do what they say. If I worked the past 6+ years building a band I knew I could make my break by biting a bats head off, I sure as hell would do it.
Well I guess what I meant was that I wouldn't support someone who didn't support someone else wearing fur. I must have been drunk. Ahhhh.....why....well...because I think that trapping is a humane way obtaining wearables that are a natural renewable resource, and that those who think otherwise are basically just not smart people.
diomedes...........if you seriously think that trapping is "humane" then you should do some research. And most fur comes from "fur farms". They are discusting places of violence and extremely inhumane practices. Saying this practice of killing animals for the sake of "fashion" is humane, is crazy all in itself. Do your reasearch on fur farms and such............you might learn something.
Thanks as opposed to????? Solid research on a subject? Well I dont think they go around giving fur farm tours but you can check. *sigh* yeah ok.
Look genius I've been researching the subject since I was about 14. Trapping is a humane practice, I know from experience; what makes you an expert on the subject - certainly not experience. I'm sure you are just another misguided activist who thinks for some strange reason that animals have rights. Go find your obscure website that shows you some 1 in a 100 chances of something happening like a dog being caught or something. Continue your appeal to pity, a F-A-L-L-A-C-Y.
Lol. Hostile,eh? I'll keep my animal rights activism, and you can keep your ignorance.......er, uh , "experiance". So sorry Have a nice day
Ya....you keep your activism and live in ignorance. Oh wait, you have experience.....oops....you have absolutely no clue of what I am talking about.....you argue the truth that is for sure. Keep your activism, I'll keep my "experiance".
