I've been pondering this lately. I can't seem to figure it out..

Why are we people? And what is a person? Who is a person?

Is it simply a personality and the body a shell?

Or are we made up of thought? Are we part of our own subconscious?

An imaginary entity, which was conceived from the stars?

This is a mad world, is it not? Hypocrisy, judgement, cruelty, hatred, famine, war, disease, hunger, they all paint a grey dull image in my head.

And I look at the people, why do we look like this?

Our individual minds are everything. They create the images thus creating our world. However, when we slip into nocturnal slumber, things disappear. There is the subconscious wall that we dare not brave for our senses and sanity could not... SHALL NOT.. bear it!

The wall that divides ourselves from "it."

    What is "it" you ask?

    i don't know.

People are the singularity within multiplicity! Some have up to 26 multiple personalities! Proving that 42 is as good an explanation as anyone is ever going to get, and God must have a sense of humor!

a person, as a lananran, such as myself, would define the term, is anything aware of its own existence. thus including the entire of mamalia and reptilia.
and of all sentient life on any and all worlds that may, as does ours, host them.

the only living organic things that might not individually be persons are viruses, which are not even entirely complete life forms, and bacteria which though living, lack capacity for intention.

organizational mechanisms, such as economic entities like corporations, and political entities like nations, are not.
though their consensus may at times form something approaching or resembling a group mind.

sapience is a special kind of sentience, defined by the creative impulse and its pursuit.
however, if one were do limit the definition of personhood to that of sapience, certainly an option,
this would eliminate close to nine tenths of the human species of planet earth.

Sapience is unity, awareness is unity, and we inhabit a singularity which resembles assembling a puzzle more than figuring out what makes it all work.

this is in a sense true. the air 'inside' an open container is contiguous with that outside of it, but the shape of the container does give it individual form.

The air becomes the container and the container becomes the air, and familiarity doth breed intimacy in a singularity. Theoretically, it means everything metamorphoses into each other in demonstrable ways, which the evidence seems to indicate and is one implication of quantum mechanics nobody considered. They knew it was a possibility, but its anathema in physics to say everything just is whatever the hell it is.

i would call that an emergent phenomena, thus bypassing any requirement for singularity, though certainly not eliminating it as a possibility.

Assuming 42 is as good as it gets, you can call it whatever you like, and there should actually be four overlapping rudimentary pseudo metaphysics you can use to describe everything. Calling everything pseudo seems strange to me, but go for it. Everything can be described as both paradoxical and metaphorical, because the two terms define each other.
