Suspected LSD overdose victim dies; manslaughter charge pending [size=-1]02:51 PM PDT on Saturday, October 16, 2004 [/size] [size=-1]Associated Press [/size] COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- A North Idaho College student who went into a coma after an apparent overdose on LSD has died. Gloria Discerni, 18, of Cottage Grove, Ore., died Friday, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Christie Wood. She had been in a coma since Tuesday night after willingly drinking orange juice spiked with the hallucinogenic drug. Wood said prosecutors would likely file manslaughter charges Monday against the student who gave Discerni the drug -- 18-year-old Cameron James Jester, of Lincoln, Neb. "It's up to the prosecutors what level of manslaughter, voluntary or involuntary," said police Lt. Don Jiran. Jester, who was arrested Wednesday when he tried to visit Discerni in the hospital, is being held under suicide watch at the Kootenai County jail on $100,000 bail. He was originally charged with felony distribution of LSD and misdemeanor possession of psilocybin mushrooms. Records show Jester told investigators he gave the woman a dozen doses of the hallucinogen in a drink and then let her have some of his drink, which also had a dozen doses. She became quickly became ill and friends took her to the hospital. Police are awaiting toxicology results to determine if the drug was actually LSD or if Discerni had taken any medications or had any other medical conditions which might have contributed to her death. Since she willingly drank it, I don't think manslaughter charges should be persued.IMO.
yeah definitely not LSD. I don't think any medication could react badly enough to kill her... plus most people wouldn't take 18 hits of acid. He probably put it in the drink to dilute the bitter RC taste. fucking asshole deserves to go to jail.
Acid doesn't need any more of a bad rap, fucking asshole should come clean about what he gave her, or they need to find out what actually killed her. Even if they discover it was something else it will probably never be released, god forbid a "medicine" that is worth billions to a drug company could do harm.
Well, he might not have known it WASN'T LSD...he might have bought a vial, ate 6 hits of it and said "Meh, weak shit..."; then proceeded to heighten the experience with the company of a friend. Either way, let's just wait for the big media scare to come along, followed shortly by a DEA crackdown on tryptamines.
