i just can't stay on topic sometimes. sometimes i just have to respond to something totally off topic and steer the conversation elsewhere. it's natural to me. ironically, i'm considered to be a good conversationalist in public situations, people love having me at parties because i talk to everyone and never let a conversation stagnate. it's a taught skill (grandma again). to be a good hostess or guest, you have to keep people talking. so when a topic starts to die a lingering death, i have to steer it. though sometimes i just wanna be full of shit and joke around and don't care if a conversation is dying. if i've jacked your threads and it made you mad, sorry.
it's been raining here for 2 days now. they were expecting snow. it's a real cold bitch out there today.
KC you have never hijacked my threads and personally, i dont mind when people do. anyways, your in ft collins right? I read the story about the "drunk bear" poor little thing was just sick. I felt really bad for it.
bring me some cigars. i don't usually smoke, but i'm a patriot and wish to "raze the enemies crops to the ground."
Hijacking a dead thread is no biggie. But steering a vibrant thread onto another subject is (as so often happens in the political forums). I understand completely the "stream of consciousness" that comes thru our minds daily. I don't like to interrupt that either. But when you have a public forum, with many minds all with their own stream of consciousness, then you can head in any direction and all it takes is the slightest provocation and the thread is hopelessly off-topic. I can see why RT is the place where all you stream of consciousness addicts hang out. But I believe the point of random thoughts was bring up a random subject, then stick to it. Perhaps if ppl want a random thought thread, they could state that in the original post, then ppl can happily say what's on their minds. I know there've been many threads like that, often implied in the title. This is definitely the forum for those. Of course then this forum is just a chatroom where random thoughts predominate. I'm gonna letup on my monitoring of this forum now, and let you guys monitor yourselves. Just don't let it get out of hand again. At some point threadjacking becomes trolling, so watch it! Have fun!
Or Skip one of the members here, could start their own personnal forum on here where the idea of it is threads that don't stay on target, that way there would be no excuse for highjacking anywhere else S
that's a spectacular idea. call it the threadjacking forum. have a competition once a week to see who threadjacks the best in the most creative fashion.
heh. yeah, i'm guilty of taking a thread back to it's original topic on occaision, too, so i can't really be a hypocrite about it.
Meh, I dont' remember you ever seriously overtaking a thread I've started up (at least not in a way I disagree with). In L&S one of my threads was almost hijacked... I was online when the two culprits were bandying about so I just asked them to please stay on topic and that's all it required, hurrah!
i'm going to re-tint my hair tonight. when i don't use the frieda shampoo and conditioner for red hair, it fades REALLY fast. but when i use that stuff, it really does last a lot longer.
I tried the shampoo for brunettes, it didnt work that well for me. My hair is so freakin dry from the blow drying, the weaves, the dying, the straightener. I use nexxus it works pretty good. in fact, i need to go get my roots done.
my hair is really really dark (nearly black) and very very fine. dye takes to it very well, though nothing else does. i usually get awesome results from dying it red.
is it a red red or like a brown with red?...ok, lets see pics. I dyed my hair chocolate cherry one time, it took me years to get the red out.
red/brown, really. used to be brick red. i'd set a picture up here, but to be honest, it's too much effort.
