Hey guys, The other day, I decided to get a rabbit, as a bit of a companion for my sister's guinnea pig, since we aren't interested in any more baby guinnea pigs running about the place, plus I've just always just been more of a rabbit person. Well I did get a rabbit; I named her 'Pelt', she eats, and drinks just fine, has really settled in pretty good with the guinnea pig - so all is well there. The only thing is, as the title hints, is that she has three legs. Her right leg is completely gone. Here's a photo: From what you can see, does it look like something that she might've been born with, or something that a vet's gone and chopped off? When we felt it, we could feel bone underneith the skin. She doesn't seem to have allot of trouble moving about, I've watched her hop along the carpet no problem, though tiles are a real hassle. What do you think?
my sister's rabbit lost a leg (broke, then had to be amputated, complicated, long story, cast being chewed is involved) bunny will be fine.
I would love to see pics of the rabbit and the guinnea pig  Rabbits have the cutest noses. They kinda smell though
That's a lovely bunny. It looks very clean, the stub. Sadly, I don't have enough experience to tell you if it is or is not an amputation.
Thanks guys She's so cheeky too. Just last night I had her in the house laying on a towel on my bed and I was giving her back a bit of a scratch, when she just flip's over onto her back with her stomach exposed so I could scratch that too It was very cute. If she doesn't want any food we leave out for her, she'll pick it up and toss it aside too. Oh and Piaf I'll see if I can get a photo of the guinea pig and her together sometime I think ya right and it's probably been amputated. I'm pretty sure she might only be about 8-10 weeks old though so she's had quite an introduction to life.
That's definitely a very young bunny (12 weeks max) and her leg jhas either been amputated or eaten off by her mother as a baby (which sometimes happens by accident-this seems most likely to me looking at where her leg was) Its a clean "stump" area and she will cope just fine without her leg, being so young will mean it'll be all she's ever really known, but she will need checking over by the vet every now and then as the back legs are obviously where all the weight is usually placed in bunnies, it's important to make sure her joints stay healthy (and despite the leg loss she'll still be wanting to run around like a lunatic no doubt) Oh, and do get her looked over initially aswell just to make sure the area is ok for her She's so sweet!
i have a three legged lizard named trykster (trike has three wheels, and he is a trickster) He may only have three legs but he moves quick as a bullet lol its amazing to see.
adorable!!!! sorry i have no input about how the leg came to be missing, but that is adorable! I agree with Piaf i want to see pictures of the two animals together!!!
