I used to have a tie-dyed suit, that would have been 1969. (don't even have the slightest recollection of where it ever went....) anyone still wear tie-dye....? like to work or something in the system....
i got a tie dyed woodstock t-shirt ..that count?? btw also have an original woodstock 69 ticket too ........
hey woodstock cool man i love tye dye and have secveral outfits that i have dyed my self my mum and dad were at woodstock even though they r from across the pond i got some great souveniers
this past summer i met a tie dye artist and he and his girlfriend hired me and my girlfriend to help sell tie dyes, so pretty much *everything* i wear is tie dyed. i obviously wear tie dye when i go to the fairs to help sell them, but at my regular job (subway), i have to wear a uniform, so all i can wear is tie dye socks. my dad's been buying tie dyes for the last thirty years or so, and he wears them to work when its t-shirt weather (he works at sun microsystems and they don't care what you wear so long as you're clothed).
I wear tye dye every day! I have a collection of over 300 shirts. When they wear out I dye or buy new ones and sew the old ones into quilts.
I wear mostly tie dye. Some of the tye dye shirts I wear go back to the 1960s! I haven't grown much since then. Just a couple pounds. I used to be a Deadhead, so naturally a few are Grateful Dead.
I haven't done much dying in the past year or so, but I have in the recent past. I used to tie dye baby slings for my breastfeeding support group. I think it may be easier for a womyn to get away with wearing tie dye to work, as womyn are allowed to be more colorful. But, I've seen some doctors at the hospital who have tie dyed surgical caps. And they even sell tie dyed scrubs, but they look prefab. I wear it, but I'm self employed and people expect people in my profession to be a little "out there."
I had a suit like you would wear to a funeral or wedding and I had an artist tye dye it when I lived in Hawaii---it was slick.Wish I had it now.
Maggie - funny you should mention tie dye scrubs and scrub caps! I'm doing my pre-reqs for nursing school, and I just wondered the other if...if I could get some tie-dyed scrubs!
My friend wants me to tie dye some scrubs for her mom. Im the reguar tie dye guy at my school, everyone's like "Tie dye somthing for me taylor!" and im like "ok"
I LOVE LOVE LOVE tie dye... I have quite a few shirts including 2 Dead shirts and my favorite which has a Peace sign dyed into it.
