Do you rip cds, download music, or tape things off the radio or do these practices disagree with your morals. As a partial hippie, I tend to find myself at loggerheads with this whole issue, on one hand, I would love to see musicians make it big, on the other hand, record companies get most of the dosh and make it harder for the little man to make it through, and also have a greater control on what gets heard and what is shut down.... so here is my theory. Buy local / independent and rip big name acts as well as rarities that are no longer in press. what about everyone else
So long as it's free, why not? If u want 2 pay, why not? I hate the fact that we can't take photos in concerts. I mean wtf? It's a stupid pic that means something 2 only me. I agree w/u btw
I download/burn all studio recordings and try to only buy live stuff.... but I do make some exceptions, like if I want a particular songbook.
I feel that there is something special about having the real thing some times though, so if its a band I love, I go out and buy the cd... like when they have digipacks... I buy those.
I agree-spend money on your faves only. Download the rest. 4 example, I could download "Barrett" 4 free, but I want 2 buy it.
I must admit, I did rip the Barrett boxed set... for personal use only... but only cos my boyfriend had it
I don't really see any point in buying dead peoples' music. They won't be making any money off of the purchases. And for today's musicians, they make enough money as it is.
yep, just hidingLOL Btw...I was so stoked when I heard that I literly went "thank god, some1 I like from then that isn't dead!" I'm so happy he's alive & doin ok.
and yea, its just his 3 albums, the cover art kinda lets the whole thing down.. it has a book as well, but nothing you couldnt find in a book about him
