recent whining in another thread has prompted me to post this thread....i dont know a lot about the occupy movement but i do know that as a ''little guy'' i cant protest the man all by myself....this world needs a major shake up

...so if you are whining about traffic snarls or crying foul because ''those'' people need to go get a job....or maybe you actually think we all start off at the same starting line in life...make your opinions known here so we can straighten your ass out......

Yea we all dont start off at the same point in life. Look at all the major league baseball players, basketball players, football players etc from puerto rico, cuba, dominican republic etc... They were fucking poor as dirt and had no food to eat or shoes to wear. Did they complain about all the rich people? No. They fucking worked there asses off using what they had and they made names for themselves. They didnt sit around protesting. They went out and tried to better there lives and there families lives. They didnt complain about the government and start running around causing mayhem. These protesters arent going to change anything. Be lucky you dont live in Syria or somewhere where youll just get shot for protesting against the government. They have a lot worse problems over there.

You use the worst demographic to value your claim. Irrelevant; the protests don't only value jobs, that's all the bullshit you hear spilled around the people who hate seeing change. You can't just assume they all don't have jobs that's like saying all white people are racist or all black people eat chicken lmao. 70% of the protesters yesterday had jobs, they value protesting as a way to show that they have a say in the system. It's not about saying "hey give me a job" no, its about saying look there may be politicians who execute the final order but we the citizens have an input and we want it to be heard.

As a side note: the u.s has fueled both sides of the revolution in syria, you know what that means. We're selling them guns to kill each other so we make some money, please don't spew this garbage about job searches, this is more than that.

ok..thats a start...i wont debate that poor people can 'make it'...they can....i was referring to the ''born rich'' having advantages above some poor shmuck from the hood.....we absolutely do not all start at the same starting line...why do you think its called ''born with a silver spoon''......

take sports dudes out of the equation because non athletic people cant be pro ball players

Ok, some non sports one. Heres a guy you may know, hes canadian. Guy laliberte. The creator of Cirque De Soleil. He was poor and used to perform on the fucken streets for money. Thats not sports so there ya go. The guy tha tcreated the brand Paul Mitchell, lived in his fucken car! The guy who owns raybans and Oakley was a foster child. They were all dirt poor and made it....
And as for the people who were born rich, well they are just more lucky tha nwe are. I was not born rich, yet ive managed to find a few jobs. Instead of protesting they can be out looking for jobs. Like yesterday, maybe instead of wearing some gy fawkes mask and standing in the street, if they would have walked into a place and asked if they are hiring they could have gotten hired on the spot. That happened to me so it is possible.
Anyways, im off to work :)

It works this way, the successful get success and the little guy stays in his place. How can someone become "successful" when the government is cutting the budgets of public education? You expect everyone to work hard when there are no schools? Oh but there are going to be schools, the problem is that they will be sold to private institutions. Same way the prisons are being sold to private institutions..

And again, the occupy movement is not about getting jobs... :wall

They want workers equality, they want our jobs to stay here in america; not shipped overseas.

The guy fawkes mask is irrelevant, that represents anonymous (another group entirely).

Your putting your favorite brand creators in the place of the working class? They sell products, who buys the products? The working class. Don't get the two class differentials mixed up, not everyone can be successful they only amount to a small percentage of the actual lower class.

So we should just get jobs and live life like a bunch of drones? No way man, it's not about enacting change overnight. Overthrow the government? Shit idk, Greece & Spain don't have jobs for people so you know what they are doing? They are rioting because the government made bad decisions that ended up fucking over the people.

But your answer is work hard and in time you will be successful too! Bullshit

Spain is civilized, so is Greece. I'm sure once the dollar crashes america will be like this too.... and that wasn't a bunch of bums looking for jobs that was a NATIONWIDE strike.

picking a few success stories doesnt mean shit...there is not enough of them to out number the stories on the other side...anyone can use ''extremes'' to bolster a debate.......take a whole area such as ward 9 in new orleans or 1 of the many reserves in north america....group them all together and tell me how you are going to improve their life with baseball dreams and fancy shampoo mogul's stories

no fucking poor people use paul mitchell shampoo,,,too expensive lol

paul mitchell is now on the other side

    ^^^ THIS ^^^

It's about making the government "Of The People" back into a government of the people instead of a government paid for by corporations as it is now.

......thanks brother...i got lucky lol.....i havnt decided how i will do my part but i will try.......the media is controlling much of what we/you/me are seeing...i am sure the student protests in montreal this week did not see second one on many american stations...that particular protest makes those tiny occupy camps look like fleas on a rats ass

and methinks more here are pussin/ out by not stating their opinion that occupy is lame...it is against the rules to put down the movement in the movement forum but not against the rules here...i am just truing to convince you fuckers that we all have to do SOMETHING

Media has really influenced us, we are passive observers who no longer associate themselves as part of the bigger picture. We just see ourselves as "normal" individuals who have jobs when in reality if everyone we're to realize that we do have a voice we could very well influence many of the issues we oppose. Like you said we have to do something, people might not agree with occupy but hey.. at least they are trying to enact change rather than simply letting the events pass by.

In some way or another, all us ordinary folks will be screwed by "the 1%". You're day will come. It might take until your aged and weak, unable to start over, and "they" pull the rug out from under you but you will feel the effect someday.

Because working for someone should be the only priority in life. At least according to what appears to be their logic.

"Making it" in today's world Not In corporate America is unbelieveably hard, I have found out. Especially in my (not so grand) state of SC. Recently our governor literally made it a LAW for ALL state agencies to answer the phone:

"It's a great day in SC. How may I help you?"

I was not able to get an appointment with the Mental Health Dept nor Voc Rehab. haha...but that is true.

One has to jump through many hoops of fire to start one's own business.

I have no idea what this has to do with anything...but I think the Occupy movement must be on to something, if it can ultimately make it easier for me to find a job.

I hope this thread gets popular because I'm on the fence about Occupy. While I support their overall message, I don't think camping is going to get us anywhere. The Government doesn't give a shit if we are out there chillin' waiting for some kind of change. It would have worked.... once by now. I hear people talk about "Awareness" a lot too, and I'm pretty sure everyone is aware. I don't have the answer for how to change what's going on. I'm too busy out there living and working to let politics affect me on a personal level. I went down to our local occupy which meets every Saturday from 10a.m. until about 3p.m. It was nice to hear people talk about things that they were concerned about and I did learn a lot. The free exchange of ideas was wonderful and people were so passionate. their group has a person that keeps up on all the goings ons and gives a rundown every week. It's over before anyone even gets a look at them and it's overlooked by the news.
