Today is Buy Nothing Day! It's the day when conscious people don't fall for the consumer claptrap to run out and buy more goods on credit. Instead there are some alternative events for people to participate in that don't waste resources or damage our planet. So don't shop this Black Friday, protest by NOT shopping! you should have posted this earlier in the day today I bought a smart battery charger reg.$89.99 for $34.99...I also bought some special stuff for fixing my defrost grid on my back window..a used satellite dish...and Im sure there was something else but I can't remember what and I used credit :d..but it gives me a percentage back in Canadian Tire money and I pay it off before the interest kicks in
's funny, it's like nothing was different at all for me . . . i actually have exactly 18 cents on my person at the moment, so my choices are limited anyways [need to fix that soon]
I didn't buy a thing today. As I was leaving work at 6am this morning I thought to myself... I don't understand you crazy hyper-consumerist blobs, as I observed the roads clogged with a ridiculous amount of traffic. Should be glad they have the day off from work and take advantage of the extra sleep time (I would love to have just ONE holiday off to spend a little time with my family). They're always so pissy and fighting over merchandise, they CHOOSE to go out and fight the masses, no one's forcing them to be there. Why put yourself through that? I guess some people actually enjoy it... I've been in retail too long and experienced the nightmare that is Black Friday too many times. Fuck that, I'll stay inside and wait for Cyber Monday...
i'm not really much of a consumer anyways, mostly because i'm a broke ass but also because the amount of human waste disturbs me deeply. i always try to buy my shit used. so today isnt any different then any other day. people who take advantage of black friday are bat shit crazy. what sane person would want to get out and into all that mess?
Didn't buy anything today. Don't plan on it either. But I might go out to eat with my family tonight. But I suppose that doesn't count considering restaurants don't typically have incredible black Friday deals.
Bought an energy drink, but most days are buy nothing days for me. Black Friday is half-retarded though. The real deals aren't very worth the trouble, and most stores fake it.
I believe all conscious people did not "shop" today, otherwise they would not Truly be conscious. I did not shop today. I was at work, getting paid to watch the overflow of people, washed out from there 6 hours orgasm of bright lights, mall mannequinns, new clothing, new gadgets, NEW toys, Hooray!! Here is your bill for $2,167.23, dont worry about future consequences.. It's christmas ... right?
Worked today, didn't buy anything. Delivered pizza all day. I had to deliver to a ton of packed stores, and twice the the cattle shoot they call the mall.
my boyfriend and I made the mistake of getting stoned and wanting fast food, the line at the wendy's drive through was fucking ridiculous
I didn't get paid until 4 anyway...and then I had to be right back to work at 4:30, so there was no time for shopping. No extra money for it, either. I think the boyfriend might have bought himself some cigarettes, though. Oh well, I did my part.
i'm so dumb i didn't even realize it was the big everybody buying things for xmas day yesterday i live in a town without a hell of a lot of shopping choices [good for a man with 18 cents] so saw no crowds we did have our "parade of lights" last night but i forgot to watch it so didn't buy that either [?] i did however get to share some leftover homemade apple pie with my kitties . . . [nothing yesterday, nothing today, but tomorrow i have to buy cat food]
It might not be being bought but it is still being made. I get the idea, but it just seems a little pointless. I do sometimes buy things I don't really need...or should have put more thought into. I don't think that makes me a bad person. If you want to stop people constantly buying frivolous things or two of everything, and think about what they have and others don't...surely there is a better way. Most people here are not vultures for every piece of crap western civilisation has to offer are we? So, wrong target audience. Any ideas for targeting those that truly do need to reign it in a tad?
lock down 2000 inmates for 2 weeks and let them out finally to get some commissary.. Whats its called:Black Friday..
Here's a video of some retards trampling each other at Target. http://www.breitbart.tv/crazed-shoppers-storm-buffalo-target/
And thats why we are called sheeple... But I was bad I bought a box of stuffing.. I have never xmas shopped on black friday though. I do very little anyhows. A couple years back I parked in Sioux Falls over Thanksgiving and just drove up to the mall to look around. I couldnt belive it, they had cops directing traffic that time. From now till after xmas just to get any supplies or pet food is a real pain in the ass.
