So I got it done yesterday and I had no idea how much it was gunna hurt today. It's been about a day and I'm swelling up, swallowing hurts and moving my tongue hurts as well.

Anyone else experience that kind of pain?

I don't have my tongue pierced, but when I got my lip pierced (center) it swelled like crazy RIGHT after it was done. It was such a bitch learning how to smoke pipes/bongs, drink without straws, etc. but I got it, eventually...
And then I pierced the sides of my lip. Did them myself, both sides, same day (one right after the other). And it was way more swollen than the first time, and there were rings where there weren't before. I had gotten used to using pipes and stuff to the side, and then BAM, there was jewelry there. And then I got used to using pipes, drinking without a straw, etc. once again... and then I took them out after they healed, haha.

The first few days are the worst. Especially when you first wake up. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water instead of Scope, Listerine, etc. if the piercer told you to use any of that. It's way more soothing, and alcohol (which there is plenty of in mouthwash) is really harsh on piercings.

Ya the only reason I'm up right now is because of the towering inferno of pain that's in my mouth

Advil will help, and it'll take the swelling down quite a bit.

I am having the same experience. I am 13 yearss old. I did my own lip. left, middle, and right side. My nose. Eyebrow. Nipples, Belly, and clit. Too much? Well i have all these done. Im away from home right now so my parents dont know..and my aunts dont care..

Well anyways i did my tongue about 3 days ago. (Feb. 21st, 2007)...And it is hurting like hell...

You should have a looong barbell in the hole.
Or else your tounge will swell up faster.

drink alot of warm salt water and drink milk shakes ECT.

dont chew anything for a while so yeah....

Some girl on the bus sat behind me had just got her tongue pierced and was trying to talk. Obviously she couldn't but this didn't dishearten the little slut. For a fucking hour of traffic i had to listen to this mess of slurred shit that she had to say.
From that day on i have hated tongue piercings.

    Fucking stupid loud bitch

my tongue never really swelled up when i got my tongue pierced.. i was able to talk normal and eat food without a problem.. the only time my tongue swelled up was when i tried stretching it too fast a ripped the hole.. then my tongue was the size of my mouth.. but now i can fit a straw into my tongue :D

Stupid stupid stupid. Stupid. Don't DRINK salt water. Rinse with it. And don't do milk shakes. Or sour cream, or ANY dairy (cheese is okay, but creamy dairy products) or beer, etc. Those things can cause some gnarley infections, including yeast infections, in new piercings. Things like slushees, snow cones, etc. are fine. But NOT dairy. And if you have to drink, drink harder booze instead of beer for a while... but remember that alcohol is extremely harsh on piercings, so if possible, avoid it until it's healed... tongue piercings usually heal pretty fast anyway.

Why would you do that to yourself, you're so young and it's dangerous if you are not skilled...

^yeah yeah deathrow knows how it is :D
no dairy, no beer, no kisses and swapping bodily fuilds for a while so it can heal...it's a bitch but so worth waiting...don't take pain killers with asa in em because they thin your blood which is bad mmkay...ibuprofen is what you need to look for...um eat soft foods, and no spicy food that'll kill....i think that's all you need to know..don't play with it .. that's what screwed me over, i was really excited and was playing with it and it killed the day after....mine was really good though, it stopped hurting after a little while and i talked fine, my parents didn't even know i had it done and often forget i have it :)

Am I the only one that shudders at piercing their own bodyparts. I'm not into piercing at all, and I'm a guy so it's not exactly popular anyway. But she pierced her clit/nipples HERSELF. Aside from being ridiculously dangerous, I'd be so scared to have anything pierce my dick. She may not be the brightest bulb, but the girl has cajones.

I understand my generation, first time I put my lips to a bong I was 9 years old, but I never touched alcohol until I was atleast 14 almost 15.

Well it's been a couple days and the hurt is going away. My tongue is still swollen as fuck though. Pretty much all I can eat is liquid shit. It sucks not being able to have a steak at work. Instead I slide mac and cheese down my throat, but we keeps it real like that.

ya, if you're 13 and doping all that shit forementioned, I fear for this country because we will be surrounded by nothing but 14 year old retards. I'm not meaning any disrespect but seriously, there's a time and place for everything.

imo these are the ages you should try anything,

    weed - 14-15
    alcohol - 16
    anything else - 18+

Well isn't that a little cynical to say when you don't know how the people handle the drugs, I have tons of friends that started smoking at earlier ages, and they do fine. It all depends on how the person takes the weed experience. But just marking a whole age of people because your ignorance doesn't know.

Yeah. I agree with whoever said getting piercings freaked them out. I would literally cringe if some dude wanted to pierce my tongue. It hurts me enuf wen i bight my damn tongue. I nvr understood the allure of getting piercings, but if there's somethin u see in it, thas cool.
