good music, freakin delicious but why should you discuss them here since they are a rock and not really related to electronic music in any way i can think of
Good, but I've overlistened to it myself. I've been a tool fan for a while, now I hate the band members, or at least maynard. He talks about money and how torrents are ripping him off and shit, but he owns a winery and sells so many records its not even funny. 10,000 days is absolute garbage though. They went from mind-expanding music and insightful lyrics to shitty ripoffs of lateralus and lyrics about his dead mom. I mean who really gives a fuck?
Tool WAS great. There still good, but their music doesn't come close to being worthy of comparison to stuff like undertow, opiate or aenema. They are mos def on my top five list of bands to see live before you die.
Sort of, but I also don't because some of it is good. I've also changed as a person which affected what music I listen to. I still enjoy it it's just in a much different way. I'm glad I liked tool when I did though, no one else had heard of em
^believe it or not i think i know what you're talking about. I stopped listening to so much tool to broaden my musical horizons when i was about 17. Everything sort of came full circle at Bonnaroo this year. I knew they were great before, but exposure to a very eclectic variety of music gave me a much deeper appreciation for Tool. Sort of like constant overstimulation numbs me. But I leave it alone for a little while and the music takes on an entirely new meaning. That's one way to tell that a band is the real deal.
hmmz, I have lateralus and 10.00 days, I have discovered TOOL just recently youi could say, last year or so. do you all think the older albums like opiate and aenema are way much better?
Without a doubt. IMo, aenima lateralus and undertow are all amazing. With lateralus being my favorite.
i saw tool live, when they opened for the Kotton Mouth Kings in chicago. i hadn't herd them before that, i was suprised that i liked them.
You NEED to check out Puscifer. I promise you will be amazed. Also are you familiar with Alex Grey? He does the album art for Tool, and has a DVD called The CoSM, which is his art along with some music from Tool. Very cool stuff.
I LOVE APC. They are the greatest band ever in my opinion. Tool is good. Stinkfist is the shit. And probably one of my favorite songs. So Tool comes second, and APC comes first for me.
H. is my favorite Tool song, but I have teken a break from listening to them. At times I almost feel like im in a trance or something when I hear songs like Jimmy or the Grudge, But they are one of the greatest bands APC is pretty good, but lacks the raw power that Tool has. Puscifer is actually what made me take a break from Tool, some of the stuff was a wee bit to trippy for me
It all depends on your perspective on it, personally i have liked tool for years and i have seen them live, and i love it all from opiate to 10,000 days, but ill admit i didnt care much for 10,000 days at first i just thought it was alright, but i kept listening to it and paid attention to the lyrics and now i love it like i would any other tool album. and as far as lateralus goes, its a great fucking record, you just cant compare it to opiate, undertow,or Aenima though. and for all you people out there that hate the new stuff, GO SEE THEM LIVE..
I AGREE, BUT IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY CHECK OUT PET,COUNTING BODIES LIKE SHEEP,AND THINKING OF YOU, IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A RAWER(I THINK THATS A WORD) APC SOUND, THEN YOU MIGHT LIKE IT A LITTLE MORE.
