Tool are....

The most boring band in the world. Same with A perfect circle, the only reason i find that anyone listens to them is because the timing is usually quite complicated, but they are still shit and arent good.

TOOL is a great band... not too big of a fan of APC.. but i did buy the eMOTIVE cd which was pretty kick ass... its funny how you see these guys talk in other threads about how people have to be "open" about music then you see them turn face and tell other people the music they listen to is shit.. sorry to say.. but most of this forum is full of two-faced assholes

 

i like them both. i like a perfect circle more. i have one tool album. i thinks it's undertow it has prison sex and sober on it. hardly listen to it though.

 

Undertow was a great album. One of the best, aside from Aenema.

I suppose you listen to nu-metal or new "punk" or rap or something and think that's good.

Tool is about the only band making music right now that is actually interesting. I can completely lose myself in them. I think because they challenge the listener into some actual active listening that people are intimidated. People don't like a challenge these days. Too lazy. It's easier to just dance to something with a 4-4 beat, and hear about love and the ghetto, than to actually expand your mind in some way..............no offense.....

I don't know much about either band....listened to Tool some a few years back and I just couldn't get into it(that happens with alot of bands though).

TooL isn't making anything right now. At least not to my knowledge. And I follow them pretty closely.

 

TOOL fuckin rocks. One of the best bands I can think of today. APC isn't bad either.....much more slow then TOOL but in some cases it gets heavier. Aenima is a great CD......my favorite from them.

 

Hypno Toad. I love hypno toad, but that show has been going downhill since the 4th season.

 

Syd has a great taste in music.. he doesn't listen to anything in those genres, I dont think.

Oasis -greatest pop band to ever make music... far better than The Beatles.
Nic Armstrong & The Thieves - the best thing to happen to blues rock since The Stones and The Yardbirds.
Of Montreal - its just one guy, making some of the best trippiest shit ever!
The Soundtrack of Our Lives - the best neo-psychedelic band I've ever heard (havent heard nearly as much as some other people on here).
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - *real* British rock revivalists... 2nd/3rd only to Oasis and The Thieves... one of my favorite bands ever.
The Mars Volta - new album is just awesome.
Mercury Rev - awesome indie pop/semi psychedelic band.
Acid Mothers Temple - the most psychedelic band I've ever heard.
Frog Eyes - too weird, can't describe... but still awesome! far better than Tool. imo the best musical poets of today.
The Church - awesome band out of Australia who put out a great album earlier this year.
Martha Wainwright - singer/songwriter who's obsessed with Dylan even more than I am.
blah blah blah... there's fucking hundreds of great bands and artists making great music right now, these are just off the top of my head... you need stop making idiotic statements like "tool are the only band making good music out there right now", turn off mtv, and find some real good music.

The key word here is ABOUT. You have to actually read the posts before you comment on them. And everything I said was true. Maybe Syd does have good taste in music, but why start a whole thread just to say something sucks, especially when it doesn't. And especially especially when it's about my TOOL. Couldn't just let that one go. And I don't watch any of your yankee music programming.....nor any other music programming, cause they all play shite. I just find that there's two reasons people don't like tool. 1) They think it's too morbid, and all they listen to is pop 2) They don't give it a chance. There's a real provoking beauty I find in them. More the music than the lyrics. Maynards an asshole. But, whatever, I'm down defending myself against you clowns....
