There is an herb called Spilanthes that will fix it instantly.
Really, it numbs your mouth and makes you drool and stuff.
It's just a little flower bud, and I know a few people who pick em and stuff.
Research it, ask your friends, whatever, get a hold of it. :) Tis great.

I think cloves can also have a numbing effect. Try putting a clove right into the molar and leaving it there.

You should get this looked at.

Do you live in a major city? Is there a dental school nearby?

I live in Philly and a lot of my friends get dental work done for free by dental students at the Penn or Temple Dental Schools. It can be a little rough at time-but the work is overseen by the Professors. I had a friend that had a series of root canals done for free that would have cost thousands.

If only ye had a good health system...

Then again ours isnt great but at least its free :D

Hmm, well Ive avoided the dentist for nearly 10 years  so dont have much advice..trying to think now..try to avoid letting hot or cold drinks touch the tooth and avoid eating on that side of your mouth if you can. Thats about all I got..

tincture of clove, my mom made some, it lives in a mason jar. tinctures takes a little time to make, so see if you can find some at the store. also you could rub a little vodka on there.

find a dental school, they usually work on a sliding scale, and theres a qualified doctor there to supervise the students. its a good way to help someone else out too.

i have two teeth, both molars, that are cracked and have molar wall chipping off, luckily it hasn't moved into the root yet, but i have to get a top and bottom molar pulled. at first i wanted to get crowns, but my mom told me that they arent permamntent, and im sure as shit not gonna shell out 4k, only to replace them for another 4k in 6-8 years. id rather sacrifice the teeth, you know? i think by having them pulled its like 500 a tooth or something.

Holy shit thats mad expensive  Never realised how lucky we are to have free health care, I mean I got crowns the last time I went on both my lower molars and all I (well my mum) had to pay was €15 for pain killers...

yeah. $$$ everybody wants some more. i was quoted 2k for each of the root canals/crowns, plus 3k in cavities for the rest of my mouth, at the current time. closer to 4k total if i have the molars pulled instead. but dentists like when you have a tooth in every hole, so they will always push the crowns on you. dont get me wrong, i love my dentist, hes awesome (he cried when i got my wisdom teeth out, because the nerve block shot had to be given twice on one side, and it hurt SOOOO bad i was crying and trying to be brave, and he got all weepy too lol) and the whole office is like a big family. not the cheapest, being a private practice, but higher quality than comfort dental which is a franchise (and is HORRIBLE)

hubby was charged like $1000 for walking into the emergency room, $500 for a doctor that was too busy taking calls on his cell phone to offer any real help or information, 1000 for the doctor that came in and actually helped, plus the tests and xrays, it came to about 7k total, for one ER visit and NO ANSWERS.

health care sucks. but i am not a fan of this forced health insurance crap thats coming up either. i have an envelope we put money into for 'health insurance' but actual paid insurance only pays out if you get sick. its betting against your own health, and thats dumb. plus, you dont get your money back if you pay into health insurance and dont get sick. now they want to force us to have health insurance, and fine those who refuse to carry it by charging fines at tax time. it pisses me off.
/end rant before it gets out of hand

Ick. I know how you feel. I've been having extensive dental work done for months and it won't be finished for at least another year. Gargle mouthwash directly over the sore tooth. It will get rid of the pain, although not for good.

The root is exposed on both of my lower back molars but its more of an annoyance than anything and I keep my mouth clean so its all good :D although sometimes if cold things get to the root it hurts like a mother fucker.

I use Kin, same pink shit that they have at the dentist. Pretty pricey but my mouth is a lot better for it :D although I still have to use a baby toothbrush because my gums are a bit fucked after travelling last year..

Yeah, Id go with orajel and saltwater rinses.
I can feel my upper left wisdom tooth cutting in.. Im doing the salt rinse and drinking lotsa water to keep it clear. It hurts to open my mouth really wide, I hope it doesnt get infected again.
last time it was cut it got infected and I had to pay for xrays and antibiotics and tylenol 3 and they told me I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed before they got impacted, but I looked at my xrays and they werent at odd angles, only one was slightly crooked, but not enough to impact. Its gonna hurt when it comes in, no doubt, but its better than paying 4 grand and getting my gums cut up, dug and drilled. FUUUUUUUCCCKKK that. I just gotta stave off infections.
