Come to think of it, I've never been to a RAVE either... but wouldn't mind trying one. I'm not really into the Dance(whatever) they play style of music, but, the experience might be interesting....

What/Where are the "comercial" raves your talking about?

There's lots of types of raves... They just don't play the bubble gum pixie dance music that's been drummed up in the media for years.

thats what i talk about when i say 'commercial'
i can't seem to find any that aren't that type of "bubble gum pixie dance music that's been drummed up in the media" :D
i can sort of narrow it down by saying i'm really into trance / psych trance/jungle/ drum and bass...that type of stuff, but i'm really into anything and i'm very open to new music :D
really my heart is set on going to a forest rave, but i'm not sure if i'll be able to find one now that its getting colder
i'm really not picky, and at this point i just wanna go to a rave and dance :D

Jess, from what I gather Toronto is one of the biggest jungle scenes in canada at the moment. If you wanted to journey a little further Montreal has lots of psy-trance and happy hardcore parties, as well as all other sorts...

I could not tell you any raves in toronto to go to oviously, but if you were to start looking into different djs in Toronto that you like and just going to see them spin at clubs, then you'd get more into the scene, and you'd meet people who would be able to hook you up with better parties...

Or y'know, wait until summer and there's TONS of outdoor parties across canada I've been hearing about.

Poke around on tribe.net there are a some torontonian groups on there that can keep you updated on what's going on around town.

I've only been to one rave and it was in a barn.

i'm really excited ...i've been really looking into this...and i'm just loving it all so much...especially now that i've been spinning myself :D

sarah are you going to go to shambhala?
or alex would you be going out there?
i really want to go :D
it's a little pricey and kind of takes away from the rest of the traveling i wanted to do this summer but it'd be so worth it :D
i wanted to head out west anyways :D

every sunday there's a cherry beach party in the summer. i'm not sure when those start, but it should be soon. also, pretty much every friday/saturday. for those of you who don't know, cherry beach is a nice big stretch of parkland along the water front in one of toronto's industrial districts. it's huge, and it's a mission and a half to get to, but that's what makes it so good. traditionally a place where cops go to beat kids they've picked up, it was transformed into the alternative culture's gathering grounds peaking last year. though near the end they started complaining more, i see at least another year of boom before the bust. good luck!
