I recently broke my wrist and was prescribed some Tramacet.
The doctor told me this is to help me sleep.

I was wondering if this would give me an opiate high.

Has anyone had this before? If so, what were the effects? How much did you take?

    Apparently it contains Tramadol.

Keep in mind that I have very little knowledge on this subject.

Does Tramadol provide any recreational effect?

Not really... Tramadol can cause seizures at moderate doses.

Not really a high, but it provides some minor pain relief, and can help with wd's for people addicted to opiates. The tramacet version also contains that damned acetominophen.

Couldn't find a way to extract the Tramadol :(

I decided to take three when I wake up, which I just did.

It's about 15 minutes in, and no effects so far.

    Will update.

Its tramadol and apap (acetaminophen). Legal over the counter in some countries, Mexico i know for sure. Basically tramadol.
Think of Tramacet like percocet (oxy and acetaminophen) and Tramadol like (oxycodone). One has acetaminophen and one doesnt.

    Its even in the name....

Probably made in lower doses than Tramadol because of the apap. Dont take it in as high dose as you would tramadol cause depending on usgae of other alike pills could be bad amount of acetaminophen to take.

    Thanks for the informative reply.

I am very surprised at how strong it is at 100mg.

Maybe you could do a cold water extraction. It may or may not work with Tramadol. It would depend on the solubility of Tramadol in cold water. Whether it's worth it or not is up to you.

Yeah, the Tramacet I found on the net contains only 37.5mg of Tramadol and 325mg of Acetominophen. Considering that, doing a CWE might make some sense.

CWE Works perfectly - Tramadol seems to be soluble in water.

I doubt APAP is soluble in water, so this is probably worth it.

Oh good lord, careful with that Tramadol, in any of its forms. Some people( mostly folks w/ low tolerance like me) find enjoyment from this stuff. For me, it's a mild opiate high with a speedy feeling to it. It also seems to put some bounce in my step. I loved to take it at work. No one can tell you're on it, and I was very focused, no usual aches and pains. Some people get nothing out of it. A lot of people don't like it at all. Whatever you do, please keep it to occasional use. The WD is awful. It's so innocuous, you wouldn't think so, but this shit is wicked. Going through it for the second time. Sucks. Scary.

I've been out of pills for a while, and I don't plan on getting more.
    I loved the feeling.

I loved/love it too. Sigh...well, I'm glad to hear you'll never have to deal with Tramadol withdrawl. This shit sucks. But my Percs are coming soon, so, temporary relief!

Why not just stay away from pharmaceuticals?

I would if I could. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the way opiates make me feel, it just isn't worth the BS just for recreation. A few years ago I broke my left femur when I wiped out on my skateboard. They put in a metal rod and a couple of screws. I've tried really hard to stay away from opiates, since I grew up watching my mom battle an addiction. I've tried weed for my pain, but it makes me anxious, and doesn't seem to help.

I can't say that I have, Impending. Will weed have a different effect when eaten? I had no idea.

I have no scientific evidence to back it up, but in my experience the effects are different. Less anxiety, stronger effect.

It's worth some research, for sure. Thanks :)
