Mescaline is a powerful mind alterer. No entry is needed into the mescaline trip. It's a worthy goal to try to return to a spiritual basis in life. But one can't just take up a spiritual path for a few minutes and expect that it will have some real and solid value, even as a doorway to mescaline.

I am not being judgemental. I have also done mescaline a number of times. It's a very fine hallucinogenic, the best, IMO. But it needs nothing to complete it. It's also very powerful and the moods once one is underway vary. One might not care to have a spiritual trip at all once things start, and rather, might just want to hang with friends or screw or something else.

But if a spiritual trip is what one wants then I suggest a return to your very own roots, be that Christianity, Judiasm, some secular meditation style, Zen or whathaveyou, or even just go for basic setting enhancement with some incense and candles, you know what I mean. Just do what makes you feel like you're at home and happy.

If you're not aware of means for creating your own setting then something I always recommend is cleaning the area where you will be with soap and water, and incense and so on. Clean the space really well and place some power objects in the corners of the room for clearing enhancement. These few outward techniques can easily make the space feel friendlier later.

But a mescaline experience, I find, goes beyond simple confines of time and space. It goes to the heart of one as a interdependently connected DNA based organic being. One finds connection with everything alive. As such, to enhance the lifelines that one normally finds is the way to go. Be with plants and friendly animals. Friends, and so on. I spent one trip cleaning my bird's rooms and just playing with them, and another building a greenhouse out of 2 by 4s and so on. It's nice to be of service during the trip. This definitely casts a spiritual glow to the event. So I recommend that one spend some time cleaning the dog's room and feeding it, and so on. You get the picture.

Mescaline is itself overpowering to meditation and so the two aren't concurrently necessary. So one should make the trip itself a meditation, and I find that finding some small service in support of more lowly creatures a very good way to induce the happy/empathic aspect of the trip.

But if it's your first time then make sure you preserve your personal space until you know how you're doing. Ie., have a retreat space free of distraction for if you need it.

    Best Wishes on Your Journey.

hey fractual, if it's not already too late, I would recommend reading this before the trip. As far as actually setting up the experience, just make your environment as comfortable as possible and keep things nearby which would bring you/lead you where you want to go. http://www.erowid.org/spirit/yoga/yoga_info1.shtml

i've seen a group of kids meditating before the dead came on at a show in saratoga springs last year. if you looked at their eyes, it was pretty obvious they were tripping. cool thing to watch, i tried picking up tips... but i was tripping as well and cannot connect it all again. oh well. seemed like a spiritual experience.

I doubt any true realization can come if it via a drug. Yes you may get a pleasant experience or trip, but if you seeking self realization I would advise against doing it.

To trip on drugs seems to be an excape, not a facing up to the truth. You need to become totally conscious of all your actions and thoughts. A drug will just distort this.

Either way be safe, I know a friend who suffers psychological problems from using drugs. I don't want to sound like some government agency, but just consider the risks first.
