i just bought 3/8 of mid grain and im looking to sell them in grams, but i dont have a scale. and i dont have the money to buy 1 so i was wondering if u guys knew a good way to eye them or to make a makeshift scale? thanks-
looks aren't always everything. the bud could be some dense ass bud then breaks up into a full joint in one little nug. without a scale you need to palm it and feel how heavy it is. of course you will need practice, i'm not very good at weighing out with my palm but my brother gets it exactly right almost every time. its insane. but if you don't think you can save up to $20 (tops) then your screwed.
If this is a one time deal then just eyeball it and ask yourself how much you would pay for ____ size nug (then make it as big as you would pay, or want others to pay, for a gram).
dont fuck with it. roll joints and sell them until you get a scale. you should know how much should go into a joint.
i encountered this problem for a while, best thing to do is find or somehow measure out one G. break off enough to match this. i always told the person i eyed it up and made sure it was cool with them that i did <--as long as you do this you shouldnt have any probs
PS: you can get a decent digital scale for 25-30 bucks. If your 26 and a working man, getting one of those should be no trouble at all.
get a scale, and consider it a long term investment. If you stop selling, then you can always measure your purchases to make sure you're not getting ripped if you buy frome someone new. and... 3/8? just buy a half
you can just eyeball them and call them ten or twenty sacks instead of grams or whatever. just dont lie, if someone asks say i think its around a g or so, and they will look at it and decide if they want it or not. dont lie and say yea its a g, people wont get pissed if they know its eyeballed, theyll get pissed if you say its weighed and its eyeballed.
No its better to sell bud the right way and not sell people eyeballed sacks. I wouldnt even buy from anyone who was selling bud without a scale, what kind of business person is that. It's just like doing a job, I wouldnt go build a roof without nail guns - just like you shouldnt deal without a scale.
its not that big a deal, in my opion, to just eyeball a g. aslong as the buyer knows this then he isnt getting ripped. not buying from someone just b/c they dont have a scale seems harsh. granted, i wouldnt buy anything over a G if they didnt have a scale, nor do i think anybody would.
I usually like my bd weighed out when i buy it, but when im talkin to the dealer im getting it off of, i ask if they have a scale, and if they dont, i tell them im not guaranteeing im going to buy it. Last time i pciked up bud off someone, they didnt have a scale, so i thought maybe they were going to try to rip me off. Once they took out the bag, i could tell it was at least a couple more g's than i was paying for. When i weighed it out when i got home, I got 2 more g's than i payed for, and it was good bud. Buying without a scale is a risk/reward thing, with more risk lol, thats why if any small time dealers im doing business with dont got a scale, i just bring my own.
My dealer always weighs in it front of me, and so should yours. If its not getting weighed, its more than likely being pinched. Investing in a scale of your own might not be such a bad idea.
yeah getting a scale is well worth it, but dont wate your money buying one at a store, because they rip you off hteir, having them for $35+, just get one off ebay $15(incl. shipping), i got one and it is definetly a good buy and verrry very useful
