Funny how christians reckon that they've got a hold of all they need to know about their religion, yet they continually sink themselves with their own deceiptfulness at the expense of truth.
Now I'm a stickler for what is true, having found that I've been deceived by christianity for a long time. But unlike some fundamentalist christians, I will not tolerate lies and deceit because truth is paramount. Indeed truth is an integral aspect of God IMHO.
I find myself often asking why anyone would want anything less than the truth, and am continually confronted within these Xtian forums with deceitful manipulations of scripture that alter meanings so as to fit the requirements of christian "proof". Obviously this is because there is no evidential proof or historical substantiation of christianity, so it appears that christians, in a vain attempt to salvage something from the shambles of their unfounded unhistorical unethical religion, are attempting to rewrite OT prophecy so that it appears to fit with christian myth.
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation
So here's a few truths just to get things rolling

Truth ~ the name of the gate on the remnant east wall of old Jerusalem is The Golden Gate. It has never been known as anything other than the Golden Gate throughout history. But christians reinterpret OT prophecy so as to make it fit.
Deceit ~ Christians dearly want this gate to be called another name so that it provides a (false) substantiation for their (false) claims, so they re-name it the East gate simply to align it with an OT prophecy.

Truth ~ The "messiah" of the OT was to be a man named "Emmanuel".
Deceit ~ Christians claim that the man named "Jesus" is the messiah. They have changed the prophesied name to suit.

Truth (?unverifiable but possible?) ~ The NT was not completed until circa AD400, being compiled by christian theologians conversant with the OT so as to make the NT appear to be a messianic continuation of the OT.
Deceit ~ Christians purport that the OT proves authenticity of the NT by citing OT prophecy, yet neglect to take into account that the NT was likely to have been written with the OT used as a reference ~ a more than distinct possibility.

With the above in mind, I have included a poll ~ what is more important to a christian ~ truth or lie? Choose two options that are true.

That is one of the lies and a deceipts that I bring into question JesusDiedForU, and the answer to your angular question is No!
"The Bible" makes no such claim. Christians and christians alone make that claim. Not only that, but such assertions do not exist in the body of earliest records upon which the NT was formulated (ie the book of Mark). The claim that you referr to is an assertion that was made by a Roman Caesar the Emperor Constantine, who inserted into the lexicon of his formulated religion with no evidential basis.

    Your polls are biased.

Of course "twisting the truth" is not a good thing.

Could you please respond to the other poll you created about christians being in denial of....?

I want to know about this dog flea gig you've got goin on.

Maybe you'd like to point out just where the "bias" lies when the questions asked give equal opportunity to be negated?
    Christianity is Truth overall
    Christianity is not Truth overall
    It's right to 'twist' Truth
It's not right to 'twist' Truth

I mean to say that you imply here that Christianity is....twisting the truth. I wish it just had the first two sentences...Christianity is truth or not truth overall. Done.

Do you really believe that some here are not twisting the truth? How sweetly innocent!

That's a great quote. To give you an idea of what I believe through a Christian lense, I would say:

"There are occasional bright lights amidst the dark sky of humanity." and one of those lights was Jesus Christ. The Buddha was another, Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, and many other holy people are up there in the list of people who responded with utmost compassion to our broken world.

If you do not already know this truth, which is known, accepted, and taught in all christian histories, then you don't know even the most basic elements of your own religion. Which puts you in the majority of christians, at the low end of intelligence and high end of stupidity.
Your request is the method of the fool in trying to place the responsibility of your own foolishness upon those who know better, but from whom you refuse to learn.
Had you the least iota of knowledge about historical christianity, I may consider your request and answer. But of knowledge you have nothing, live in ignorance, and defend doing so, and as such you are wholly unworthy of any serious consideration, discussion, or debate.
    Like ImFuzzyNuts says ~

For those who ask it is given, for those who seek will find, and for those who knock the door will be opened unto them................
Pretending will not get you the truth you deceiptfully seek.

If someone asks me to prove something I would attempt to do so...

You on the other hand, just call me stupid and ignorant... what ever you believe ... count me out.

(Ok, thank you for your reply. Now can you please answer the following questions that are in BOLD)
God said well over 2000 years ago in Ezekiel that when this gate found in Jerusalem facing east is sealed that it will remain sealed until the messiah returns and walks through it. It was sealed in 1517 and it still remains sealed today after almost 500 years and after several attempts to falsify the prophecy.

Interestingly enough, in Ezekiel it states that the messiah would not walk though the original gate but a porch of the gate which was an addition to the orginal. How could Ezekiel even know about such an addition hundreds of years before it was built. On top that, how would he have know that it would be sealed and when the gate was sealed, it would remained closed until the messiah reveals himself and is exalted. Furthermore, the fulfillment was not brought about by those who believed the prophecy but those who did not believe the Bible.
