His wife woke him up in the night, saying she saw a man with a gun outside. He was checking it out with his assault rifle when a SWAT team opened fire with 71 shots, hitting him with 60 of them.

The police did not allow paramedics on scene for over an hour and when the paramedics were granted access, he was dead.

Jose Guerena was 26 and left behind a wife and two sons.

And here I'm thinking not another one. And yet again, police murdering people for no reason.

And say, while it doesn't seem likely, for instance they did find weed. So that justifies a brutal murder for a bunch of plants? And to make things even worse are the coverups and denials.

Anyone else watch the video in the article that comes right after it about the 7-year-old girl murdered by police?

    Murderous pigs.

Now, as far as the "outlaw guns" threads..... why, because then they can't use that as an excuse to shoot us? I think it's a pity he didn't see an armed silhouette sneaking around in his yard, and kill a pig or two before they got him. (they likely would have shot him if he came outside without a gun, they frequently shoot people without guns INSIDE their homes, so in the yard is no problem)

Cause it doesn't look so much like we have guns in case of a need to resist in the distant future, this looks pretty glaring and present.

Not that I'm calling for civil war or anything. I just think if MORE americans had guns, they'd think twice before this kind of thing.

*edit* if you watch through the ad after that, there's a video about a 7 year old black girl who was shot by police, in what seems to have been a raid where they were ready to kill for TV, they had reality TV cameras rolling and all..... again, it's a shame more people don't have guns to shoot back. (though this one did happen a while ago, I think I remember it)

Well, at least he had a gun. I remember a guy in New York who was fired on by several policemen who emptied their guns on him and reloaded and continued fire on him till he stopped moving and all because he reached for his wallet to show them his ID. I believe it was called a good shooting. :)

I hope the wife sues the police department for enough to shut it down. Arizona law enforcement is a law unto itself and should be reined in if not terminated.

See the BIG LIE is that if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

Not true. Unless you call all police criminals! The average citizen would probably have more reason to fear the police than outlaws. We pretty much do already.

Ultimately this is typical of the FAILURE of the War on Drugs. Bringing violence into our homes.

Legalize drugs and this would never happen.

Keep drugs illegal and the US will soon turn into Mexico with headless corpses and blood flowing thru our streets.

I consider most if not all governments to be criminal organizations and akin to mafia, police departments are their "muscle" so I would categorize police departments as criminal factions and most officers to be brainwashed thugs who happen to be armed to the teeth.

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges...

I didn't miss the point- I'm just willfully ignoring the magical mystery entitlement of "respect" that is bestowed, not as a result of being earned but as merely expected because someone carries a piece of embossed metal.

Amadou Diallo was a 23-year-old Guinean immigrant in New York City who was shot and killed on February 4, 1999 by four New York City Police Department plain-clothed officers: Sean Carroll, Richard Murphy, Edward McMellon and Kenneth Boss. The four officers fired a total of 41 rounds. The shooting took place at 1157 Wheeler Avenue in the Soundview section of The Bronx. The post-shooting investigation found no weapons on Diallo's body; the item he had pulled out of his jacket was not a gun, but a rectangular black wallet. The four were part of the now-defunct Street Crimes Unit. All four officers were acquitted at trial in Albany, New York.

Diallo was unarmed at the time of the shooting, and a firestorm of controversy erupted subsequent to the event as the circumstances of the shooting prompted outrage both within and outside New York City. Issues such as police brutality, racial profiling, and contagious shooting were central to the ensuing controversy.

Skip, I have not done drugs since 1978 and do not advocate that anyone do drugs but you are correct, drugs should be legalized.

Prohibition fueled and paid for the gangland violence of it's time and likewise illegal drugs are today's prohibition and the result is the same. Instead of all that drug money funneling into the gangs, the US government could be funneling it into the US economy where it is sorely needed.

'no knock' warrants...one fuckin' 'cowboy' on the squad, and people die. one mistake in the 'always correct computer' on the address, or one lying informant...too much adrenaline, too much testosterone. if they ever come here and something like that happens, you won't even read about it in the paper or the net. not a blip on the radar...

i don't know all the facts, so i'm not saying more...and it's entirely possible that the exact facts will never be seen.
