i reckon the best acid music/acid inspired has gotta be between Hendrix and The Beatles. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds for the win
I might get hated on fo this but i personaly think the beatles are one of the most overarated bands in history, defintaly not what i would consider psychedelic. My personal favorites are GD, Ratdog, Panic, Miles Davis, MMW, Umphreys, Ozric Tentacles, Shpongle, String Cheese, Tipper, Hendrix, P-Funk, Sly, Particle, Hookah, Bassnectar, Anything Claypool, Younger Brother, EOTO, Lotus, DJ Logic,Buckethead, Tabla Beat Science, Vibesquad, Prefuse 73, The Cheebacbra, The Mackrosoft, the seedling escape, spourque.
aint done acid, want, on mushrooms i like what ever my mood is, any music i cant randomly love, once i got realy angry eavrytime some1 turned off britney spears lol
What genre/s is that music from?! I've only heard of Miles Davis, Hendrix, and Claypool... I love the Beatles and Hendrix, but I'm really starting to get into prog rock. Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, ELP, etc. is where it's at.
The Beatles were one of the original psychedelic bands, and the amazing part of it was they got famous as a teenybopper band took a break and then boldly came back with their original music ahead of its time. Their latter day music may be primitive by todays standards but it's intersting in historical perspective. side note. Bob Dylan is the person who turned the Beatles on to acid.
It depends how hard I'm tripping but in general.... 1. Shpongle, Younger Brother etc. 2. African/Tribal Drumming 3. Spanish Acoustic Music
Ah, nylon string! Thats the only instrument I have left, I actually play some Flamenco, although mostly Baroque, like Bach
luke vibert comes to mind, as well as sphongle, and pink floyd hasnt been said? probably the craziest users of the drug.
founder Syd Barret was an acidhead who went nuts, but the rest of the band wasn't into acid that much. when they were college students and struggling musicians their music first became popular in the underground London rave scene (not yet called "raves" at that time), so their original followers were crazy into the drug but most of the founders were just intellectual musicians doing their thing with their synthesizers and other newfound techniques. their early music was very trippy, then they got political, then came Dark Side of The Moon and the rest is history.
yea! I don't know many people who like flamenco music, it's hard to play with the right technique though, especially if I'm tripping Although, I almost forgot, classical guitar is great to listen to/play on the comeup of an acid trip. Like Romanza, Estudio, lagrima etc.
I thought the white album and the earlier shit was pretty good but I personaly think sgt. peppers sucked , there was alot crazier more modern music around at the time to which the beatles didnt even compare.
"Asilos Vulnerado" If you are into flamenco guitar, you should check out the album Mclaughlin, Di Meola, and De Lucia: Friday in San Fancisco. Recorded in 1980 at the Fillmore. They are all beasts, and it is kind of a shred-fest, but they all work as one brain and there is ridiculous energy at the show.
Personally, Im not a big fan of McLaughlin, the shit he did with Miles Davis was ok though. Paco de Lucia is an amazing guitarist though, absolutley brilliant. But, I prefer Andres Segovia over all of them, its true Flamenco isnt really my big thing, I can play quite a bit and have developed a certain level of techinque, but I get into the classical shit mostly, Bach will always be my man Cliche, perhaps, but his genius cant be denied
Meh, they are all great, but so cliche. Too much great acid music to even get into. Lots of indie-pop/rock sounds mad cool to me on LSD.
I'm not much for indie, but I can see where it could be much more interesting on acid. They do try and be weird, after all . I'm trying to get into playing the guitar. It's annoying to suck so bad when you start :|
