Wikileaks, the organization that released 400,000 Iraq War documents, is planning to release another 3,000,000 secret documents soon. That would be seven times the content of the last release. They did not announce the subject of the next release. The previous release contained incident reports from soldiers during the Iraq War that shed light on Iraqi prisoner abuses.

UPDATE: New Wikileaks release to contain corruption allegations against governments in Russia, Afghanistan, Central Asia, Europe and East Asia.

Release of these documents is expected sometime next week, by the usual media outlets including the Guardian, Der Spiegal, the New York Times and this time also El Pais (Spain) and Le Monde (France). Note these documents have already been in the possession of these media outlets for some time so they can redact any info that might endanger people's lives.

The need for state secrets is a cautionary tale that never proves to be necessary except as cover for acts that are offensive to our common sense of goodness.

This whole thing really baffles me... Just how in the hell are they getting their hands on all these classified documents?

Is the US military really that useless at keeping things secret?

That aspect of it all this scares me more then anything considering what they have their hands in...

I think it is a combination of a human being at the data entry point and the fact that he is a hacker.
    What are you afraid of?

Does that not make you wonder about the security of things like your nuclear weapon systems?

These are not just files that are lying around for joe blow to pick up on a quick hack of a libraries server...

These are classified documents. Whether I agree with the idea of secrecy or not (I don't), is besides the point in worrying just when it is that the security is going to be compromised to the point that a hacker could start a nuclear war.

Well regardless of who's doing it, it's good to see we have at least one true patriot here and a national hero to admire for the first time in a long time.

Julian Assange is an Australian, not American, so how can be a patriot or American hero. He's a HERO OF THE PEOPLE, against the Elite who wage war for profit.

And as far as the "security" of information goes, now you can see that it's ALL LIES!

Anything posted up electronically is subject to hacking and public release. This would include financial records, health records, police records, lawyer files, etc.

We have given away our privacy believing our gov't and corporations will protect us and our info.

What a fucking FARCE that is!

Nothing is safe, and nobody, no organization or gov't or private company can guarantee the info you've provided or they have stolen from you will not become public!

Actually if you're referring to the person who copped the data to begin with and gave it to Wikileaks, yes you are correct, he is a hero.

The American soldier who released the video of bystanders being targeted and killed is now in jail. He is at least one hero. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the same one who released the 3 million docs.
