Im sure you have all heard by now about the 90,000 military documents that wikileaks published exposing the atrocities performed by the US military in Afghanistan.

Well I went to visit the Wikileaks site earlier today and was not granted access, I went to the NY times, LA time, CHicago tribune, Google, all these major sites are working perfectly but EVERY site associated with wikileaks is not working?? I tried again a fe minutes ago (keep in mind HOURS have now passed) and still I cannot connect. My ISP is fine, internet connection is fine yet I cannot access wikileaks. Even ALL the sites on my favorites bar (nearly 60) all from wikileaks, are not accessible?

I am curious if anyone else is having this problem.

Can you access wikileaks.org? If not, why do you believe that is. What country are you accessing from?

The head of Wikileaks had his passport confiscated here in OZ not long ago on what seemed to be a limp pretext.

I think it is important that the public continue to learn about the effects of these wars on civilians and the innocent who usually in any case suffer the most in any significant conflict.

anything that rips the veil from the u$ military machine is has to help somehow

especially if it wakes up voters, though i doubt it will

to be honest, i have never heard of them until now and don't know what their usual work entails

i guess an answering question could be asked as well:

how has the last winner helped towards world peace?

To be fair these documents relate to more than just the USA.
The Gaurdian article I posted earlier has done a good job fleshing all of this out.
Don't be too down though, there is plenty about the US military machine.

Obama, right. My guess is he changed the tone of diplomacy.
We all know Bush was terrible at making peace.
Obama might be just doing what Bush did but he does it with friendlier rhetoric.
People actually want to talk to Obama.

Also in todays paper ,information that the Pakistani "secret service' is double dealing by cooperating with the Taliban and al queda against our troops. We cannot win this war. It's bleeding us dry and we need to declare victory and get out. Viet Nam redux, god dammit!

Of course, we all know if it's on the internet it has to be true, right?

Seems to me that too many people believe too much.

Does anyone here have any evidence that the documents posted on Wikileaks are truth? Or, do you just believe it because you want to?

How many of you have friends or relatives in Afghanistan? Do you really want someone posting classified information that would endanger their lives?

I'm in Georgia, USA and I can't get it.

I don't plan on reading 92,000 documents. I doubt it is all true. Enough of it is to have a better appreciation, though. I'm sure many have read the prejudicial headlines and don't need to read anymore. Just that tells them what they want to hear. It isn't like unreported innocent civilian deaths have never occurred before, for e.g. Look what occurred in the WWs...

I'm sure it will not swing many minds the opposite way they are already looking.

Here's another problem with this. Somebody can't get to the web site, so the conclusion, naturally, is that Uncle Sam shut it down. He must shut down a lot of web sites.
