I didn't even know beer wasn't Vegan! What are some companies that make Vegan Beer? Peace and Love, Dan
I have no Idea, i went to this Vegan site and it said that you have to drink Vegan beer if you are a vegan, and i had never heard that before. Peace and Love, Dan

I guess if you think about it... yeast is kinda alive. But seriously, if you're too soft to kill yeast, maybe you shouldn't be drinking.
Ok, I want to clear up the last two posts. Vegan food tasteless? HA! You must not know how to make good tasty vegan food. Yeast living? Well, yes they are living, but they are fungi. True, they are the only fungi that move arround, but still, they feel the same pain as a mushroom.
read the links i posted on previous page, some beer/wines/spirits use animal products in their production...not talking about yeast.
For those in the dark on this point.... Yeast isn't the issue as far as beer goes. It's the refining methods that are suspect. Certain brands of alcohol are refined using animal products such as bone, fish scales, egg whites, possibly some others to but I can't remember. The only alcohol I drink is malibu & coke, and that's vegan.
Isnt beer just like grains and barley and stuff? how is that not vegan? weird. I worked in a resturant that had like everykind of beer you can get here in America...and none of them said..."Vegan friendly"
the only ingredient in beer that cantains animal stuff is finings. finings is used as clearing agent in wines, cidar and some beers. can contain eggs, animnal geletin, and isinggalss (fish blader). or other chemicles. This is not used much in brewing anymore. Fltering is more the standard practice. less time conesuming, and time is mony as they say. and some the mass produced beers use chemicel aging engredients to get the beer on store shelves faster. no clue whats in this.. but any quality beer wont use chemicle aging http://www.brewerylane.com/finings.html the main ingredients in beer is water, malted barly, yeast and hops. Malted barly is , barly that has been brought just to the point of germination and this baked in an oven, and sometimes other grain like wheat, oats, and rice are used. corn sugar is comon in mass produced lagers.
