Ive used Original Source shampoos and conditioners before and they were very good. They make different ones for different hair types and arent overloaded with harsh chemical crap...although obviously they still have some, but it says "no artifical parfums or ingredients" and has a vegan sunflower stamp:)

This might not be what your looking for, but I use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint (I have dreads that come to my shoulders)

I use castille bar soap to wash and lemon water to detangle.

    lush has LOTS of SLS.
Giovanni triple treat is fairly nice and SLS free.
Avalon Organics (yes, there are issues: do a search) are usually pretty good.
I did NOT like ylang ylang.
Nature's Gate is my standby detergent shampoo, and Chagrin Valley Shampoo (soap) bars are my current fave.

I second Nature's Gate. I use their Tea Tree Shampoo and Henna Conditioner. It works well. :)
