Do you do what I do, stop and ask yourself, jesus christ what are people thinking? this world is royally fucked up. Whenever i see someone drinking milk I can almost picture them bent down under a cow sucking on it's udder, infact I usually just refer to it as "cow tit". Cheese sometimes gets labeled "molded cow tit" and meat gets replaced by "x corpse" x= species of the corpse? whenever i talk about eggs i certainly put in the fact that I don't wanna eat something that popped out of a chickens vagina, it really hits people after talking like this then showing them videos like meet your meat, or several other videos that document the meat/dairy industry. What really gets me are people so damn ignorant that they think animals were put on this earth for them. Or people who can call themselves animal lovers after they get done, or aren't far from gnawing on one. Rant might not be over. feel free to add
yep i feel the same way. i've just given up trying to show people how weird their diets really are because i realized that im acting like my dad (an evangelical christian obsessive jesus freak religious fanatic) when he tried on a daily basis to "save my soul" and tell me how stupid and misguided i was for being an athesist. i was never mean or forceful in explaining the cruelty of the omni diet, but diet is a personal choice, much like religion and people dont like to critized for it or told its wrong. lead by example. if people ask questions, answer politely and dont let the ignorance of some people upset you.
I totally agree. I am utterly mystified as to why so many people choose to consume meat and/or dairy. Honestly, it's not even as if these things are good for you...hell, they're really bad for you. Everytime I see a person gulping a glass of milk with the idea that they're doing something good for themselves (because of the government and those got milk ads) I just feel really bad for them. Not only are they corroding their bodies with this mal-nutritious crap, they are weighing down their souls.
well i also think its gross...but im a vegitarian soo.... anyways, while most meat products make me want to throw up, i never push my beielfs on others, or gross them out while they are trying to eat. jus as i dont apperiate people telling me "pff u dont eat meat/ whats wrong with u?" i really dont apperiate when other vegitarians/vegans try to preach to meat and animal product eaters. it gives us a bad name. damn those self righetous veggies! i influence peopl with my non eating meat ways, but by setting an exsample, not by preaching.
I don't have a problem with vegetarians like Deja Voo. But, allow me to give an omnivores perspective: I'm not ignorant about the animal rights issue. I know where meat comes from, I've seen the peta videos, etc. I get annoyed when fellow omnis get all shocked by them..."omg! You mean they have to kill an animal to get meat????" Duh. Where'd you think it came from? At the same time, I myself don't feel impassioned by the issue. Yes its wrong, but think of all the other things that are depressing and cruel in this world. Nobody is passionate about everything, it would take too much energy. I agree everyone needs to stand for something, but they don't have to stand for everything that you yourself stand for. People have different areas of interest, it shouldn't upset you when some people aren't bothered by the thought of eating meat or dairy. By the way, if the situation called for it, I would have no problem sucking on a cow's tit And ship of fools, your definitely entitled to your opinion, but I must point out that with your self-righteous diatribe I'm not sure I see a difference between you and Pat Robertson.
I hear you, but like DejaVoo, all I can do is set an example for others. I am not going to change anyone's mind by acting better than them. It completely grosses me out to see people gnawing on a steak, but I keep my thoughts to myself unless asked for them. I definitely know how annoying it is to have someone staring at my food with disgusted faces and rude comments, and I wouldn't want to put anyone else through that. So, although I know it is wrong, I attempt to control myself unless asked for my opinion.
what about the food chain, the predator and the prey, the nutrition triangle thingy and the fact plants are alive also? i mean, whats the BASIC principle to encourage a vegetarian life? "not to eat animals?" "not to eat living things?" i'm seriously lost here.
Haha, I was just kidding actually. It does sounds weird, but in the end all carnivores eat things from mammals vagina's. To me it's as simple as this: there are very logical reasons to eat meat and also to be a vegetarian.
my rant was very very very general, anybody can help me. and asmodean, i also think it's as simple as you just put it. omg my english is tarzan tonto and the mummy all mixed up, please kill me bauhahaha
nothing wrong what so ever with eating meat, dairy, eggs. and im sorry to say but veggies and vegans smell, tis a fact
There are many basic principals to encourage a vegetarian lifestyle. One of them is cruelty to animals. Many people, such as myself, feel we have evolved past the point of hunting. Our ancestors did not have the knowledge we have today about health and sources to get our protein and the like. They also lived in much more extreme conditions (I am referring to the cavemen here) and did what they could to survive. Now we have access to many different foods, and there is truly no reason left to eat meat. Plus, you have some of the factory farms out there that don't exactly have the nicest conditions for animals. I do not feel comfortable supporting that. As far as meat from more humane sources, I still do not feel comfortable gnawing on a once living creature. It is a personal choice. There are also those who are veg. for health. Some people are not able to consume meat and/or dairy, or they feel it is unhealthy for their bodies. Other reasons for this lifestyle are taste, religious beliefs, ect. The list could go on forever. Also, I thought I should mention, there is an extreme difference between an animal and a plant. For one, plants do not contain a nervous system. I hope that cleared up some questions for you . Yes, we smell like many things, but one of them is not rotting corpse .
first of all, that list could not go on forever. "taste" and "religion" aren't reasons. so the list has 1 item: people with lactose intolerance and such. but i get it. and i am too a believer of a constant evolution, but i've never tought about it this way... so i'll try to be really innocent about this. what about the tiger. he eats meat. is he wrong? it's his lack of reason what make's him right? he does what he does just by instinct right? ok. what about my instinct? should evolution replace my animal instinct? i think not, because the food chain it's a logical system where evolution is really evident. the problem with the nervous system is the pain right? it's just the pain? how well do you know plants? are u certain that they feel nothing? i guess the nervous system doesnt' cut it for me. i'll become a vegetarian when evolved tecnology provide us with proteins and all that stuff without killing and animal, OR A PLANT. is this is not possible, being a vegetarian today it's like playing half of the game or follow half the rules. let the food be, let it circle around the chain... this alimentary evolution you speak about, it's got to be an evolution of the mind. {argh i feel so slow writing in english}
i guess your going to become a vegetarian today. because you don't need to kill an animal or a plant to be a fruitarian. they only eat the raw fruit of a plant, and leave the rest of a plant to live. they get all the necessary protein and vitamins that they need from fruits, nuts, seeds, etc.
oh cmon you know no vegan eats seeds and fruit only. i've been to a number of laboratories and i really ask a lot of professionals about this and find out it's NOT true. that's the problem when you try to write a fact. it's not. this is your fact, and my fact is that you need vitamins only available in meat. so, facts are facts. i'll keep mine if you don't mind. but hey! don't let me lie to you. you are what you are just because the great cavemen eat so many meat to make you what you are today. i think vegetarian diet its just an exagerated and twisted version of the love for the world, wich ignores natural evolution and netural food chains.
Why are taste and religion not reasons? I am not sure I understand what you mean by that. I know a lot of people dislike the taste of meat, and that is why they choose not to eat it. Also, vegetarianism is included in certain religious beliefs. About the tiger comment, I understand what you are trying to say, and I respect your opinion. I just happen to see it in a different perspective than you. I see it as our brains are more complex than that of a tiger. I never said there was anything wrong with the food chain. It has been the key to survival since the beginning of time. The reason I think humans are differen't, like I said, is because of the difference in intelligence. Personally, I don't have any desire to eat meat. If it was required in my diet, I would probably be craving it unbearably right now. I think the main point of vegetarianism is to avoid as much cruelty as possible. If you wished to not eat meat or plants, you could always do as Wonka said and be a fruitarian. Nobody is making you change, though. If you feel it is fine to eat meat, the decision is yours and only yours.
to me, religion is not a reason because im not a religious. and taste is proven to be aquired. so there. thats right, our brains have REASON. the difference between animals and humans is reason. but, if you get my point of view, we have reason thanks to the animals we've eaten so far. get it? several doctors will say your phisical development is going down. specially in your age. if we all live by wishes, can you imagine the world? i'm doing nothing to stop you, just wanted to know your reasons
