I know they use rennett to make cheese which involves some of the less desirable sections of certain animal organs. But read somewhere that rennett can justa s easily be made with vegetable materials. SI this true? Is such cheese avaliable in america?
as far as i know babybel uses vegetable rennet, i read it on some website somewhere (i'll try to find it for you). edit: here's the site http://cheese.joyousliving.com/
Buy "Veggie Slices" and "Veggie Shreds", they should be in any health section of any food store, they are pretty popular. It isn't vegan because it has casein in it, but any vegetarian can pick it up and eat it, i have had it (i can't eat it anymore though, because of my turning vegan) and it tastes exactly like cheese to me, and it's made with all vegetarian ingredients. Peace and Love, Dan
