I've been looking online and I can't find anything conclusive.. so please help out if you know.. I've been on Vicodin for a few days because I got my wisdom teeth out. Over the past 2 days, though, I've been weening myself off of it. I haven't had much in my system at all, actually only taking one yesterday. I haven't taken any today. I know that I'm not supposed to combine this stuff with alcohol, but since I haven't had any today, would it be alright for me to drink tonight at a friend's party? Thanks for any responses.
If you haven't taken any today, and you're not going to and the only thing on the agenda is alcohol, you're fine. Mixing vics and alcohol isn't the worst thing in the world either, a couple vics and some shots/beers is always kinda fun, although i refuse to take any vicodin anymore for the sole reason i don't like it. If i do an opiate it's OC, but if you ever get into that, don't EVER drink while on it. My friends stepmom died of an OD on alcohol and OC.
I took 5 Vicoden ES 750s and drank a pint of 100 proof vodka and I got fucked up but I made it so I would say ur fine.
You may not have died, but your liver was damaged to a degree. The problem is with the tylenol in the vicodin. Drinking with that tylenol isn't going to kill you (most likely). It is doing damage to your liver though, so you shouldn't make it a regular thing at all. Once in awhile isn't that big of a deal since the liver is a regenerative organ.
well good for u, but that isn't too smart to do. i've dranken alot more than that on more pills than that, but thats because i was fucking dumb and had a tolerance, that doesn't mean it's not really bad for you and dangerous. the best thing to do while drinking is NOT take pills in general.
I'v heard taking Milk Thistle supplements; provides a protective or cleansing affect for the liver. Supposedly been used since ancient times as an antidote to the deathcap mushroom. I take it 3x per day. Just something you could check into...
eh, i dont know i just know people who would drink milk because they claim it hepls with the nausea. Not saying your wrong though!
No not milk, its milk thistle This plant is native to the Mediterranean and grows wild throughout Europe, North America and Australia. Milk Thistle has been used in Europe as a remedy for liver problems for thousands of years. Its use was recorded in the first century (AD 23-79), noting that the plant was excellent for protecting the liver. Early Christian tradition dedicated milk thistle to Mary, calling it Marian thistle. In the 19th century the Eclectics used the herb for varicose veins, menstrual difficulty, and congestion in the liver, spleen and kidneys. Milk thistle has also been taken to increase breast-milk production, stimulate the secretion of bile, and as a treatment for depression. Milk thistle nutritionally supports the liver's ability to maintain normal liver function. It has shown positive effects in treating nearly every known form of liver disease, including cirrhosis, hepatitis, necroses, and liver damage due to drug and alcohol abuse. Milk thistle works due to its ability to inhibit the factors responsible for liver damage, coupled with the fact it stimulates production of new liver cells to replace old damaged ones. Milk thistle has been proven to protect the liver from damage. The detrimental effects of environmental toxins, alcohol, drugs and chemotherapy may be countered with this valuable herb. The active chemical component in the herb is silybin, which functions as an antioxidant and is one of the most potent liver protective agents known. Clinical trials have proven silybin to be effective in treating chronic liver diseases and in protecting the liver from toxic chemicals. An injection of silybin is a proven antidote for poisoning with the Deathcap mushroom (Amanita phalloides). Silybin is a part of the chemical structure of the flavoligan silymarine. Milk thistle's hepatoprotective effects may be explained by its function of altering the liver cell membrane structure, blocking the absorption of toxins into the cells. Hepatoprotection by silymarin can also be attributed to its ability to increase the intracellular concentration of glutathione, a substance required for detoxicating reactions in liver cells. Milk thistle is also an antioxidant that is more potent than vitamins C and E.
Thats why i don't take anything with tylenol in it anymore. I used to be really big into tylenol 3's, and i'd take 6 or 7 at a time. And eventually my liver started hurting. So now i stay clear of that shit.
Hi new member I am an MD -- Don't know a lot about herbs, but as former anesthesiologist and user of opiates and benzos for chronic migraines, I am a walking drug dictionary if anybody has drug questions. I find forums like this and websites like "askapatient" a hell of a lot more useful than the PDR and drug company information. The drug companies pay research doctors to cough up the results that will sell their products and downplay dangerous side effects. Be good and love yourselves
No, not a narc. '60s kid; got great weed from returning Vietnam vets; cannabis sativa with magenta sap and magenta crystals on the buds. Hallucinations and find your animal spirit. Also lots of windowpane and blotter in med school. Nose candy nearly did me and my resident's salary in, but my man and I had a real scare when his BP shot up to 250/120 and his arm started seizing. Won't go near the stuff now but took me a year to lose the craving. OTOH, forget I said anything.
